Started some light mods today with Bruce TT Motorsports
Bruce is a great guy and very passionate about his work. Really seems like he knows his stuff. I had him do a tune, k&n filters, an inlet tube replacement and allowed more air to get into the engine. It really seemed to help as I went there with my buddy and nailed it from 40mph and 70mph and returning home I did the same exact thing and we both felt that there was a noticable difference. I did it from those speeds because at 40 mph it is in a dead spot (wont kick down) of I think 3rd gear 3 or 4k rpm's I believe and 70mph is at like 6k rpm in same gear and it does kick down. Anyway, not exactly sure of what gear and rpm but you get my drift. I just wanted to know the low end feeling and high rpm feeling and we both noticed differences. I will debate on how far I want to go with this car depending on whether or not I will wait to find the car I really want or just go ahead and do a few more things to this one. Thanks all for the heads up about Bruce and I highly recommend him!

Glad to hear you made it out to Bruce, and thats a great start - Most people will suggest a pulley next, but I would suggest headers if you want to stay "mild" or light mods.
I agree with Jerry Light mods and Bruce don't belong in the same sentence . . .

I think most people in retrospect agree that headers should be one of the first mods... but I guess the seduction of "easy" HP from a pulley swap usually is too hard to resist.

Headers can be pretty labor intensive to install and there's a decent amount of effort involved to seamlessly integrate the rest of the exhaust to them without creating new choke points. So I guess ultimately, for the total cost of the installation vs. the power increase it's not the most "economical" way to add HP to these cars. It does seem to add power without adding more HEAT, so unlike a pulley that typically leads to cooling changes (adding to the overall cost) it's one of the few mods that can truly be added without leading to additional "extra" changes due to high IATs, etc.
Good call going with TTM.... you are in good hands. Be sure to ask him for one of his famous "thrill rides" if you get the chance. I think I was smiling for 2 weeks after he took me out in his sled and showed me what "real" power feels like.

When you get out of the "light mods" and really go for it, talk to him about his cooling system, it's pretty cool, and on these cars keeping the IAT's down is where you will find Real power... Good luck and have fun...![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

As far as going with Bruce, it wasn't my call initially, it was you guys! Once you meet Bruce you know that he is the guy you want to work on your car. So, it is you guys that get the 'GOOD CALL' and I thank you all!

Silverstreak: I will mention the cooling thing to Bruce but he did already explain the headers as far as cooling. Like I mentioned though, not looking to do too much so keeping it cooler may be the only thing I will do so I will ask him about it.
P.S. How about that retard? lmao...no names!

One more bit of advise - If you do a set of headers replace the motor mounts. A lot easier to do them at the same time, a will be a biieeeotch to do them after the headers are on the car.

As far as gambling...I was down a ton the first two days and came back to come home winning $900 after all was said and done. As far as drinking...I probably drank $2000 worth of alchohol! lmao

My experience in the past is that throttle body is best used when you need a lot more fuel. It didn't help others on other cars too much so I never messed with throttle bodies. I am not sure exactly when a bigger throttle body would come into play on these cars but I am probably not going to do enough stuff to really need a bigger throttle body...just my thoughts. Any feedback is welcomed on this subject. I am probably only going to look to remove some weight if possible without interupting the integrity of the car (stuff that is not noticed anywhere) and possibly do headers for the heat issues and a couple of other minor tricks if there are any.

I just got my car back today, and let me tell you she is as fun as she has EVER been.. Did the TTM 82 ported polished 82 TB, looped rail, 550 inj, quaiffe LSD, smaller SC pulley, belt wrap kit, split cooling, EC tune/TCU tune.. Woah thats alot.. TB definitely makes a difference Especially with headers.. If you do long tubes Seriously consider the TB.. What a difference...![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
