looking to buy E63, whats the max miles to consider?
i'm looking for an E63, preferably an 08 as i always feel the 2nd year model is more succesful. Question is whats the max miles to consider? i'm really trying to stay under 65k miles just not sure what to expect from a car with more miles than that. Is there anything else to consider or look out for in these cars? thanks in advance for the input.

You could get lucky and score a high mile car with no issues or end up with a low mile maintenance nightmare. Choose carefully and consider a warranty to defray at least cost if not aggravation of breakdowns.

got my '07 with 62k, no issues. One thing you may be able to look at, if the long-term trip wasn't reset, it can give an insight into how it was driven previously (mine averaged almost 20mpg over its first 60k miles, pointing to alot of highway miles and easy driving) since I got it, not so high...

I think most important thing with these cars is to make sure you can get a warranty for it. I bought mine last August with 46k and know has 57k. Only recently have I had any issues, driver side key less door handle quit and the head unit cd changer died, would hate to have paid those out of pocket.

i called NAC today and was told that I cant buy their warranty for any AMG cars as they stopped covering them in July 2011. Is there another reputable warranty company to consider? PPI will definitely be done when i find the one.

definitely are, but considering I got warranty coverage for about 65,000 miles up to 6 years (for me realistically about 3), for a little over $2k, I didn't mind the extra cost on the car. I mean who else even offers a good warranty on an AMG anymore?

I bought mine CPO from the dealer, I know I paid a little more then I could have off of craigslist or other but there is value in having the factory warranty and getting a loaner car when its in for service. Just this week I had a key less door handle replaced and the cd changer at no cost and a loaner for 3 days.
