Vivid is checking with Kleemann

BI, you haven't touched the car... have you?

WDBUF76J05A800788

This makes me want to put a wideband on it IMMEDIATELY to see if there's anything going wrong.
I don't have any record of that VIN number, so your tune is not from KLEEMANN.

2005 STi, bunch of bolt ons, not really sure... he was slower than the mustang
2013 GT 5.0, full exhaust (tune, maybe?)

With this one, I wasn't ready, ended up missing the hit and I was in 3rd gear at 70mph so it took a minute.

With this one, I was in 2nd at 70mph. The WS6 to the left of the mustang was trying but he wasn't keeping up... hit around 145 before I shut down.

Did they even know you were there in the first race? It almost seems as though they lined up and you just happened to be there to spank em.

Oh, they knew, haha. Friends of friends actually. Earlier in the day they said there was no way a grandpa car could keep up.

Are you sure your car is tuned? Haha. It seems like every tuner available has said they didn't tune the car. I believe the only one was OE you weren't sure of, they must have been it.

OE doesn't store their data via VINs and neither does EC. I'm having a hard time finding the name of the previous owner, that would tell me a great deal. I've already spoken with Jake from EC... if I can't find out what's going on, I'm going to have him tune right over whatever is on there now.

I'd say the car definitely has a tune from someone, it has a 180mm pulley so it better! I've also been over 155mph so I know the limiter was taken out. It'll get worked out soon, might just have a new tune instead.

How did you buy a car and not know the previous owner? The title should have his name and address on it. Just curious, not trying to sound negative

Hi

If you can't find who tuned it could it have had a powerchip installed from www.powerchipgroup.com

No worries. I bought the car from a dealership out of state so I never saw the previous title. The last person I talked to didn't want to divulge personal information, perhaps I can try again

Yea, I'd say I was sitting around 65-70. Probably a good reason why I pulled hard right off the bat, I was right in the powerband

I'd ask the dealer to ask the owner that sold the car which company tuned the car. That's all you want to know.

Well, EuroCharged IS having a tuning sale with the new software.. And you can datalog with it too. All you need is a laptop.

I would just log the car and see if everything looks ok, or dyno it to check the air/fuel ratio at least. I see no reason to pay more money to get the car retuned when it is already tuned and running well (as long as it is running well).

But these days tunes are getting so cheap I guess it wouldn't be a big hit to do if you just simply want to know what tune is on there if that is important to you. Then you can kind of feel like a part of a group depending on the tuner you choose

I was in sport mode on the trans and then manually shifted to 2nd. Seems to work great for that initial hit. Like I said, the first run was in 3rd so you can see how long it took to start pulling.

Yea, I just noticed EC is down to $400 right now. I figure for peace of mind, it wouldn't hurt, I don't really care who's it is as long as it's safe, lol. Not only that, but as long as EC continues to offer free retunes when I mod, then I'd get my money's worth out of it later on. I'd still like to do something with the intercooling system (even top mounts), and I might spray the car. I definitely can't leave anything alone... it's a sickness.

They no longer offer free retunes. It just recently changed to anyone purchasing a tune after the new year I believe it was will be charged a small fee for a retune. Like $30 or something like that. Anyone that bought a tune in 2012 or earlier will continue to get free tunes. I guess they were getting a little overwhelmed with so many people wanting constant retunes that it may have got a little out of hand, hince the small fee now.

Not a bad idea, didn't realize they had access to that stuff. I'll have to give it a shot
