Car Is Going Into The Exhaust Shop, Couple Questions
So something is jacked (as you'll know if you happened to catch my John Deere thread) and whatever it is is getting more loud and noticeable to the point I now have a check engine light on. The service manager at my dealership knows a super affordable guy that's local and does great quality work, so that's cool.
Couple questions.
I've been thinking about doing a resonator delete on the vehicle which I will probably do since it's there.
Now, what about the cats? Is there any advantage/disadvantage to deleting the cats? I live in AZ and they only scan the computer and don't even do a visual inspection. So can I get some of those cheater o2 sensors and do any of you know a place to pick some up? Thanks.

If you just delete the rear cats you won't have to worry about the o2's or a check eng light. The o2's only read the front cats.

if you delete seconds you will pick up alittle hp and sound. no need to worry about codes.
if you plan to run headers (most deletes primary cats) in the future ill keep the secondaries. straight pipe smells like rotten eggs

Thanks guys. I think at the very least, at this point, I'm going to delete the resonators.
Not sure about the secondary cats since I do plan on doing headers at some point!
Thanks again!

I run no cats (long tubes and cutouts as well after the long tubes, no res with a custom x pipe in place) and don't have "cheater sensors" but instead my ECU tune (Eurocharged) took care of the OBD II worries and emissions concerns.
I do have the occasional issue with my O2 sensors burning - we had to lengthen the wires to run to them and sometimes they get burnt up. And sometimes if I've got the angry button "on" (cutouts open after headers), they get confused and throw a code. Happens maybe once a year to one of them or something. It'll throw a CEL code and I go delete it and the "annoying light" goes away.
You can delete the secondaries with no worries like mentioned... I wouldn't worry about dealing with special o2 sensors....I bet they're more expensive and a good tune will take care of emissions.
And like everyone says, the smell of race gas... holy... and when someone else runs by running it... Even my girlfriend knows that smell now and loves it.

Considering removing the secondary Cats on my 63, does the above provided O2 sensor information also apply to my car? will i throw any codes? I do have the star system if need be, but im just curious i need to hassle with it.
