HID fog light problems....losing my mind

Hi guys, I am hoping you can help me out. I recently switched to the TRS kit from a DDM tuning kit and for the first couple of weeks i could not of been happier. No codes, no errors and they fired up every time. Now I am back to where I was with the DDM kit. To put it bluntly they work intermittently and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when they want to work.

The right light seems to give me the most troubles, only firing up about 20% of the time. The left fires up about 80% of the time. What is even stranger is when I unlock my car with two clicks of the remote it will activate the fog lights and both almost ALWAYS fire up with when I do this however when I actually try to turn the fogs on with the headlamp switch I rarely get both to fire up. I'm losing my mind over here as this is now the second kit I have gone through and I'm thinking its not the kits but rather my car that's the problem.

I emailed TRS as they are always very helpful and quick to respond but being that I have nearly the same problem on both the DDM and now the TRS kit I really think its more my car and less the kit that is the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Eric

I am indeed using a CAN adapter from TRS to eliminate codes.

I really dont think its the kit that is the problem but rather how my car is reacting to it. The DDM gave me nearly identical problems....worked well for about a week then started getting all shaky on me. I just don't know where to go from here. I love the look and the extra light offered but I'm getting to the point where I might just have to go back to crappy 9006 bulbs and consider it a loss.

I'm willing to try it but why would they work fine for two weeks then start doing this?

I don't think another kit is the answer when both of my kits that I have used have been or are being used by several members with zero issues.

Yes I have the TRS code eliminator can bus boxes before the ballasts. They are spot on too as far as not throwing a code. They only tell me I have a fog light out when in fact one of them is not firing up.

well there is a good chance one of the code eliminators Is on its way out. happened to me... at random times mine would not fire. replaced bulb and ballast before figuring out it was the eliminator.

Hmm maybe I will try and bypass them to at least see if I can get consistent firing. Thanks!

the code eliminators need to be plugged in the correct way, if you reverse the polarity it'll fry them so they're junk after that.
