I went to my local dealership yesterday to pick up my dad's ML430 from service. Guess what I saw, a new used 211 E55 on the lot. When I got up close to the car I realize the car has Burl Walnut trim instead of the black birds eye maple. I thought the Burl Walnut was not an option for the E55????

but either way, I was drooling all over it....

Burl Rules! I hate that black wood -- all my friends say it looks like scratched plastic...and it does. Burl or CF.

I wasn't crazy about the birdseye either... ordered the burl and LOVE it... I was especially happy about not getting the aluminum shiftplate.

Each to his own. I would have gotten an E55 a month earlier but had to pass it on mainly because I do not want the burl.

I don't like my black Birdseye maple at all.
I'll be spec'ing the burl.

The burl makes the interior look too much like a E500 or E320. I prefer the dark wood, that's why I went with it.

I love the S600 Interiors with Burl Wheel and all I still dont get why the new SL500 has a darker wood on the wheel then the center console. Anyways I wish the C32 would have the Birds eye maple options.
