Not impressed when there are cars out there that can hit higher speeds in the quarter mile than what that car hit in the 1/2.....

FWIW, that's not a "top fuel dragster". It's a 10.5" outlaw class car. I believe the rules for that class is that the cars have to be streetable.
Regardless, at my local track, I've seen cars that have been driven to and from the track that run sub 7s at 210ish.
And I bet, the total cost for those cars is less than that Porsche costs.

what track do you run at? not many 200 mph 1/4 mile street cars .
and just so you learn a bit 10.5 outlaw isnt a street class its a 10.5" slick class
I'm from Michigan, you know, we have "The Motor City" over here and such. So yeah, there are a lot of fast cars here. Not to mention, most companies R&D departments are here. Chryslers proving grounds are here, and lots of automotive related things are here. So that means lots of engineers and gearheads.

And I don't know about making them look like a Prius. They're only about 1.5s faster than the outlaw class. Granted getting those 1.5s at that speed takes a lot of know how and money.
I'm not sure how you can say it's not apples to apples. They're both performance cars, both twin turbo, both race prepped, just one is a helluva lot faster than the other.
I think they should make a competition. Give a couple teams $80k and have them build a fast car. No stupid arbitrary rules, no limits. Whatever you do with that 80k to make your car fast, do it. Then, may the best team and car win.

I don't run at a track. I go there to observe sometimes, once in a blue moon. Drag cars don't impress me. But for what it's worth, I usually go to Milan dragway.

as for the outlaw being 1.5 sec slower than top fuel dragster better look again. top fuel runs in the 4's and at those times gaining a 1 full sec is a monumental task. you claimed the 10.5 was streetable the definaiton of streetable is licensed, insured and driven on the street. 10.5 outlaw doesnt meet that critieria
Get with it.....
