got this heavy odor on a quick pull from 50-120. stuck around for quite awhile. is it time to remove cats? I read that after removing front cat it can make your car smell of gas, Def. don't want that

Exhaust smells are strong with no cat's!! Not inside the car at all though. I actually don't mind it. Growing up around old muscle cars and the track it reminds me of that so.

Isn't there some sort of federal statement that you can replace your car's clogged/fouled cats under their dime? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was some law out there.

Replace them.

Well this situation obviously leads to clogged cat, most likely primary, but I have a feeling they would just try to blame the cause from tune pulley and headers. I'm not positive there clogged, maybe I'll get, lucky and won't have smell if I fill at different gas station.

A rich mixture will give you the smell of rotten eggs which probably occurred due to hard pull you mention. However you still should not be able to smell it in the vehicle.

80,000 miles cats are covered under warranty. But if car is modded good luck getting mb to cover costs

I've got 78000 on it. how do they diagnose? tearing it apart and visual inspection? I'm not about to pay dealer if in fact there not clogged. the the stink in the cabin was pretty bad. May have a very slight exhaust leak on one of the headers to make the smell so strong

I just removed all of mine for long tubes so might sell them but shipping would be very difficult.

Last time I floored it up two blocks uphill I got the sulfur/rotten egg smell. It cleared out after a little driving and my friends told me it is normal if the cats get really hot/rich.

^ exactly the same thing was a slight incline so they Prolly got pretty Damn hot . I mean as long as there not clogged I'll deal with it now and . car pulls real nice so ide imagine there would be some kinda issue power band wise if exhaust wasn't flowing properly
