Finally managed to find an M5 (E60) who was game for a drag! His car was stock except for an ecu tune which he had dynoed at 524hp, apparently (flywheel). My car has ported stock TB shaft, K&N's, straight through rear silencers. He was alone, I was one up.

First run was from a dig and although he got the slightest of jumps on me from the start, I managed to claw back and get into the lead by the early portions of third gear.

Second was from a ~40 roll. After the third honk (ie, the 'start'), he was 1 car ahead. By the end of third gear (or was I in the middle of fourth? Not sure), he was a total of 1 or 1.5 cars ahead and slowly pulling away.

Just thought I'd share. I think I did quite well tbh. Makes me wonder if I could probably take a stock E60 and by having one less passenger in my car.

I do not think stock vs stock an E55 can take an M5 06 and up. Maybe from a dig to up little bit but that's about it.

Viren, I don't know what to tell you. The one on the street was from about a 60 roll. I may have got a slight jump but had him by about 2 when we got off of it around 150! And I will never do that again on the street, trust me! It was on a 5 wide lane highway with no traffic else I would have never done that!

The other was at the track and I stand corrected in that I did have the upper pulley then and I beat him by at least 5. I was on regular tires and I ran a 12.06 on that pass.

I agree, I have a buddy with a 08' E60 M5 and we've raced dozens of times with both of our cars in different configurations (stock/modded). Never once has he been able to keep up with me....roll, digs, or straight track. That being said.....on a road course, his E60 is steps above my E.

I know most of the guys around here seen this video but for those of you who haven't here you go. My stock e55 with 1 passenger vs a stock e60 m5 with 1 passenger and meistershaft exhaust.

I raced another e60 m5 in white and had the same results. To the op your races sound on point. They can get 25whp off a tune which is some decent power. Stock vs stock it will look like this

Celicasaur: I managed to get off the line decent with limited wheel spin and don't know what the M5 did. I didn't talk to him but I was giddy when I saw we were lined up against each other. The pass before I blew the tires and went 12.7 so you can see it all depends on you you get off the line.

I saw the video on youtube. Stock E55 vs Stock M5 both bone stock. No k&n or nothing.
M5 won. It was a race from the roll posted by someone named gustav , I think m5boardotcom is the channels name.
It was on an airport strip if I remember correctly. Well I'm happy our cars win lol and I have a tuned s/c pulley anyways so hopefully I won't lose to M5s lol

No wonder the E55 lost, afterall it was on M5BOARD.com. I agree, they are SUPER biased to BMWs! Now if it were lets say the Stig in the E55, the M5 owner would still be crying. I wouldn't be the slightest bit of surprised if the guy driving the 55, owned an M5..
