Skratch, I feel like your comments really mean everyone should go upgrade their trans and converters if they want to make real power Why do you think the TCU tune will cause you to eat converters?

Will a TCU tune not speed the shift up and allow more torque on the shifts?the converter will take a beating taking off and shifting to second that way

No matter what they do with the shifting in the TCU tune the ECU still shuts the bypass valve leading up to the shift to limit torque during the shifts. IT also closes the TB about 10 percent as well. You end up with the same amount of torque coming out of the engine during the shifts. Log the car and you'll notice in the lower gears you lose a lot of boost during the last 800 rpms or so.

This is a snip of ec TCU and all I ment is my car with its torque would of failed faster and people need to know you have to pay to play and the more we keep pushing the limits the more things will start to fail.here is ec write up on there TCU tune
Modification of Torque Management Settings- Faster Shifting- Raised RPM Limiter- Raised Torque Limiters
Here is kleemann TCU tune
Our TCU upgrades are available for most cars with the 5-speed automatic transmission, and differential ratio change, power handling capacity and shift times can all be modified. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.*
Wouldn't power handling capacities mean more torque going threw the converter and faster shift times would not give my car a chance to lock up and would slip more
I want to make this clear that in no way am I trying to make a TCU tune look bad my point was my car failed with the more torque with the stock TCU so for people that might have that thought that there converter failed from a TCU tune is not the case it failed from the cars massive power and I had a chance for a TCU tune for cheap and I said no as I knew I was pushing the limits on my tranny.
Now if I drop down to a 168 or stock boost I would def consider one

82mm tb get ready for some fun!!!! If you are going to do this make sure its a tb that the blade opens and closes the same direction as stock.trust me driveability is night and day vs the Audi tb that opens opposite and when the car kills power with the tc system its not like you just choxkee the car out because the blade angle is opposite and you can feel a huge power jerk cut off with the Audi tb.

Doing a 82mm after all that along with a carbon air box your looking north of 4k installed and that's 1500 for an intake if your lucky to get one and around 2k or what ever the tb kits are going for these days

Skratch, you are correct they do remove the limiters form the TCU. However from the logging I've done and the logging I spoken to others on the forum about the ECU seems have TQ limiters as well. The bypass and throttle most certainly do close as the engine nears the shift points at wot in the lower gears. It also appears to lessen when you shift into the higher gears. As other have said it pays to play and when anyone is modding like this plan on breaking ****! By the way, do you have a copy of your dyno sheet? I'd love to see the curve you've got making that big power with a Kleemann tune!

Nothing to be happy about as that 195 **** killed my torque converter lol

I thought our transmissions were rated up to 750ft/lbs? I know things can and will still break when modding, but it was some peace of mind for me when modding began.

I went from stock to modded all at one time (i had headers installed 1st then the rest of the mods)and like someone said earlier "it's all in how you drive it" I've learned to drive around town without engaging the supercharger and I have a 185mm pulley. I also have an original TTM 82mm TB which is a Porsche GT3 82mm TB and the blade opens in the opposite direction of the stock blade. (To make it work properly you have to switch a couple pins around in the plug and bump up the idle 60rpms) I've never dyno'ed my car so I don't know how power it makes nor do I care. I also achieved 10's on my 4th run after modding my car and I wasn't satisfied with that time so I went to the track a different day and made one run and beat my previous 10sec run both 10sec runs done at full weight (except clk wheels with MT's) +254lb driver
Skratch this in no way is a knock against you, my point is that every car is different as well as the mods that you make to the car.
If I may add to your op I would say to someone....figure out what type of performance you want out of the car, do your homework and when you find a particular members setup that you like copy that setup 100% but if you must change something change it for the better and don't cut corners and figure ahh this part does the same thing so this should be alright etc.... My setup is a mixture between Loco's & Lowprofile and both of those cars are well into the 10's.

PWN3D!!!
Same EXACT horsepower and torque values (593.06 / 602.15) and even the same filenames for the run file (RunFile_006.drf)
I just printed each one out and held the graphs up to the light and they are absolutely IDENTICAL..... somebody has some explaining to do.

There is a chance that two totally different cars to make identical numbers but to have the same file name does not make sense and arouses suspicion as to a copy.
I just have one question why would anyone brag about something or boast their cars like that ? I mean it's just a forum and you are not winning a prize or setting a record ?
The other side of story could be that the Drag times info guy copied the pic ? lol
