I am usually very impressed with not only the depth of knowledge of the members here, but also by their willingness to help.
That said, I think the previous posts are not entirely helpful and a bit misleading.
Based on my vast amount of experience on this platform I can only reccomnd you try and locate these on eBay

i just bought one on ebay to help mod my buddy's new 2009 E350
Search for w211 side marker. We choose the smoked version.
So look for it on Ebay.
Dont ask me to get the things out.....they are a bit trickier than the W203 sidemarker which is a snap!

I would doubt local laws would penalize you for clear lenses. If not can you clarify?

It's an equipment violation, not a moving violation. He won't get stopped for it, he can be in some states but its petty and in highly doubt anyone would get a ticket for it. Plus an easy way around it is to install a amber "bulb"

actually, clear lens are not prima facie because it is the illumination which
invokes a violation if improperly lit. so a clear lens, with amber light source
is fine
drive in certain neighborhoods around here where LEOs are looking to pinch
and that will be good enough for a stop. 2 brothers local police, sgt and swat

OP won't get stopped for having clear lenses, he could but wont. Raymond is what's known as a "sea lawyer" throwing out info about stuff he knows very little about.
