Suspension Malfunction - Please HELP.

It seems my trouble will never stop with my e63. I only drove 200+miles on the car since i bought it ( used 2007 e63 with 90K) and every so often.. like every 20-30 miles I get suspension malfunction alert. If i stop the car and restart the alert disappear. The car hold air just fine and i am able to lower and raise the car in to comfort mode. Any ideas what can be causing the Suspension Malfunction alert ?

Is it the Airmatic pump that is going bad. If the time it takes to fill up the central reservior is longer than permissiable the Airmatic warning will show up on the instrument cluster, which means the Airmatic pump is going bad.

I also assume when the car sits over night by morning time it's sitting low al around or is it to just one side?

I will park the car tonight on the perfectly strait surface and measure the height in the evening and next morning. But i don't believe it losses air over night.

What is the best way to test Airmatic pump ?

The best way is to hook it up to star diagnostic and see what the malfunction says it is...

Good now you are on the right track, record the hight and time.
Now tomorrow before you do anything, check your measurements and record your measurements and time then get a stop watch and go to the car and unlock drivers door and open it, (don't get in) you should hear the AirMatic compressor come on, time it.
Then come back here with your data.

An easier way would be to hook it up to an SDS, read out the fault memory, then process the fault code accordingly, instead of just guessing what the problem could be. There is a nifty little test in there for the airmatic pump that will release the pressure in the reservoir, then fill it back up. If it fails to reach 14 bar within the specified time constraints, the pump would need to be replaced. There is more to this suspension system than struts and a compressor. It could be a level control valve inside of one of the struts, etc. etc.

SOLD 04 E55 Now 93 w124 3.2 sold W210 E55 sold waiting on W211 E63 p030
If its making a loud sound and vibrating like mine....... its on its way out. Im waiting for mine to get here so I can replace it. BTW, I have the airmatic arrow warning and it does not drop over night. That would be an indication of a leak.

My AirMatic light came on the other day so I hooked it up to STAR, and it was the right front speed acceleration sensor. Ran the test for the compressor and passed flawlessly. Cleared the code, no problems since.

Smile Update with measurement and pics

Here the pictures from last night - car parked on flat surface - 3 tires are 4.75inch gap and 1 tire 4.50inch gap. Is it normal to have 1 tire to be 0.25inch lower or this indication that something is wrong. I will take a new measurement and pictures tonight. Thank you for everybody assistance. I hope this experiment will help other people to troubleshoot their problems.

Good thinking Serge,
Besides the actual measurements if the tape is loose in the morning you see instantly.

My light came on this weekend and I hope this is the case. I'm going to hook up my STAR and see what it might be. I counted a total of 21 sensors/modules for the SAS system... so it must know what is going on!

I'm getting my fault after my wife left on my parking lights last Thursday (completely drained my battery). I Jumped it and noticed the fault on Saturday. Its the "car raising" graphic, but the car looks raised already. It also does not lower once I park either.
