Kleemann K4 for sale. Thoughts?
I'm in the market for an E55. Came across this 2003 Kleemann in my search.
What's the consensus on this car? Any opinions are appreciated.

I wouldn't care about the K4 package. IMO, the maintenance record is much more important. Plus, the leather seat doesn't look good at all.

for 90k miles those seats look about right for someone who didn't treat the leather all the time - mine are showing some wear at 74k
have a PPI done on it

if you go look at it just make sure everything works on it..and have an inspection if you can. It easy to get caught up with the power and awe when driving these cars...this one should absolutely smoke these tires and your ESP should be going off like flashing christmas lights...previous owner modded the car close to its potential and probably ran it hard. just use your judgement when buying it...
I personally bought an 05' over an 06' because the mileage was 20k lower, it was extremely clean and carfax showed it did have frequent visits for normal maintenance...

My leather seat look like new. I use leatherique every 3 months and other leather products....... Even my 2000 E55 leather looks better than that. I would not buy a car with such condition. Good luck.

This place is a joke.
My blue inserts look about the same, and my car is/was maintained very well, full dealer history. The blue inserts seem to scratch and crack easily. Interesting find, I would have a dealership perform a PPI, and also remove the fuel sender access covers and check for fuel leakage. Good chance this one may need a $3000 gas tank if it hasn't been done already. You can also contact Kleemann USA to verify the VIN#. Not a bad price either..I did notice they mention all prices are firm. Only downside is the 2003 model year.

there are plenty of E55/CLS55 that are for sale in the classifieds here. I'd grab one of those before this one! This might be alot cheaper, but come maintenance time, it may be in the $$$$ thousands and OP will regret purchasing this 2003.

screaming deal for a K4 car with all the records ... seats dont look perfect but the price is definitely right with all the mods. You should look at this car in person through to make sure there are no surprises.

Its too much car for me anyway. I'm looking for something closer to stock as it will be my main transportation.

I disagree with some of the comments.
The car was modded by someone who DID care for this car (at some time), maybe it has changed hands a few times and the car's condition deteriorated at that time from subsequent owners. A K4 package is an excellent package that will put that car at 625+ wheel torque and costs in the $13K range (maybe more depending if it was installed by Kleemann in Colorado Springs, CO or by an independent shop). Another thing to remember is the K4 package is designed with some conservatism and not sacrifice reliability, so you could drive the car everyday. Kleemann is a great tuner.
I have a feeling a few careful Leather treatments / conditioning over the course of 2 weekends will rejuvinate that leather.
Also for an '03 it is a heavily optioned car (cooled seats, keyless go etc).
The car is well priced in my opinion.

When these cars are properly modded they retain 100% of their driveabilty and comfort. I can run 11's at the track then load up the wife and 2 yr. old in the car seat, and drive anywhere in comfort, the car has mild manners until you drop the pedal. It's the ultimate sleeper.
