There will be through efficiency, different turbos, timing, and boost maps!
MB/AMG have to draw the line at the point where they get they can extract the most power without sacrificing long term reliability and emissions...
That goes out the window with tuners! Can't wait to see what one of these will do with a catless exhaust, water/meth, and some good aftermarket tuning!

I dont think you will be able to get much out of these cars....
Real compact plumbing and the back housing of the turbo is integral to the exhaust manifold.
Also the A45 AAMGuses a dual scroll ball bearing unit, so i dont how much one could upgrade this turbo without going out to a large expense. Same holds true for any tuner that wants to offer a upgraded turbo package.
BTW Evos produce 18lbs of boost stock

I think a tune only will produce at least similar power gains that we see from a tune only. And assure you the aftermarket will have turbo solutions bumping them way up.

I actually love the design of this car, but I doubt the avg. person at least early on is gone to be swapping out the turbo on a 45k car and definitely voiding the warranty. Perhaps it will make a lot more power with a down pipe upgrade. Using a stock 305hp STI as reference point, that car does 0-60 in 4.3-4.5 sec and 1/4 mile in 13.0 at 104-106. With 360hp (maybe more if it is underrated like many AMG products these days) I predict it will do 0-60 in 3.7-3.8 seconds and run the 1/4 mile in 12.6-12.8 seconds. I mean just look at the TTRS. That car does 0-60 in like 3.7 seconds and 1/4 in the low twelves with less factory rated hp.

I see your point. On the other side there are plenty of guys with the more expensive m157 doing mods when they are still new enough to be under warranty. Maybe some will, some wont, and some will do minor things

With that being said I do believe there will be more tuned A45s then any other new AMG on the road due to it having a lower price of entry.

Why not just buy a VW Golf 1.8T for a fraction of the price, dump another fraction of the price into mods and have a 500HP VW? Then you can pocket the rest of the cash.
They look almost identical, too.

x3 - Something is not right. The CLS has been tested consistently in all magazines at close to 120mph or higher.
Tuning will not lead much and I tend to agree that most people buying a $50K will not make substantial mods that will void the warranty.
A tune or downpipes is one thing, larger turbos etc is another. Look at most of the people on the forum with the C/E/CLS. Very few take the leap of doing obvious mods that will void the warranty.
