AMGer's, I need your help. I have a problem with my trunk not opening with the soft touch latch under the trunk lid. It opens fine with the remote, button in the drivers door and the emergency manual key. Before it would open by me pressing the latch under the trunk and it would pop open fully with a soft press of the latch. Now when i press it, it does not open. What could be the problem? Thanks!

Tons of info in the search engine....but to recap:
The wires in the harness located in the drivers side trunk arm are getting pinched, then cut, then stop working.
It is about a 2 hour DIY.

I've noticed that my car is about 50/50 when trying to open or close with the power function. It always pops open, but only raises all the way and closes with the button maybe half the time. I'll have to take a look at the wire pinching issue.

I've already fixed the wiring harness situation once. Possibly the issue again? I'll check that out but I don't think that's the problem. Every other way of opening the trunk works except what I mentioned. Is it possible that it could be in valet mode? My wife locked the trunk with the metal key once but i tried every possible way that I could think of to see if that was the problem with no success.
