Thinking of moving to c63 - thoughts?
Any thoughts on the move? Specifically how is the transmission in the c63 in comparison? Still a auto w torque converter? Any sharper shifting?
I just drove a black series about two weekends ago, holy hell that was awesome. Definitely the next car I'm buying; I just don't think I can ever get rid of the E55.
Aren't the C63s just as far as the E55s? stock for stock? It definitely felt like it.

Its geared more aggressive and the transmission is tremendously faster and crisper. If you can get into a 2012+ the shifts are a tad bit faster because of the change from the 7G to the MCT. One thing I fell in love with immediately was the Sport mode rev-matching downshifts. Just the bark alone sold me.
Also if you are into engine mods its easy to get 500WHP from this car safely.

Personally, even with an AMG upscale, the E55 interior would be tons better than the C63.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I've seen a couple decent mileage c63's around me for sale but none are less than $40k for what I thought was a much smaller car. Personally I don't think you could go wrong with either...but I get the handling issue. I jump in my Mustang and it takes corners like it's on rails (of course it kills your kidneys on the bumps though!).
I loved our 09 PP, but the interior is just not on the same level as even an old e55 all IMHO.
this could matter to some of the older folks.
if you're into road racing.... no contest.... get the c.
E55 interior is far superior wrt to quality of materials used. Also I found the C63 seats to be a bit tight esp. for those with a wider girth

The cla45 runs a 12.1 1/4mile... Consistently bone stock, on a good day the e39 runs low 13's. I've been around BMW for years.. I've never seen a stock E39 run a 12 anything. slap DRs on any car and you'll almost certainly see a substantial change in their track times. Stock for stock very few BMWs can compete with AMG.
