Anyone run a v.2 CTS-V yet?
Curious how they stack up against the 55k (in the real world)... On paper they look pretty evenly matched.
I spent some time behind the wheel of a friends V.2 -V on Saturday and was impressed!
Have to admit - didn't have the same vault like feel that my old 55 did, but it didn't feel cheap like the V.1 -V. Felt better than the 55k did through the corners, but the chassis is also a few years newer in terms of tech.
For those interested, it hooned just as well as my 55k did (actually a little better)! I got it pretty sideways on a number of occasions, and was able to hold it without the car fighting me.
Though I couldn't get it to roast the tires for the life of me. My 55k would roast them till they burst, but this -V just wouldn't do it.

I ran my E55 before I sold it against my stock CTS-V (brother-in-law drove) from a dig and a 60 mph highway roll and the V won both races. The dig race to about 100mph was very close. I was winning in the E55 up until about 50-60mph and then the V started to slowly pull and ended up winning by about 1.5-2 car lengths and pulling slowly. The highway pull was similar except the V never trailed and pulled about the same distance from about 60-125-130mph. From my experience the E55 feels more responsive and aggressive off the line and at lower speeds thanks to the more aggressive stock tuning of the 55k and because it makes more torque than the LSA down low. The LSA feels kind of lazy with light throttle inputs, but it responds almost as good when the car is in sport mode and with more aggressive throttle input. Like the 55k the LSA has makes monster power in the mid rpms and exceeds the 55k on the top end. From my understanding a LSA really wakes up with a tune and/or a throttle body upgrade.
Here is how I seed it from own experiences:
1. Stock V2 > Stock E55 (Dig & Roll)
2. 180mm Pulley only E55 w/tune > CTS-v (Dig & Roll) Note: The roll race will be close because of the top end advantage of the V but the torque advantage of a 55k may be to much to overcome if the race stay under 125mph.
3. Once a V2 is pullied it will be game over for most 55k unless you are Stage 3. A basic upper pullied V2 with intake, HX, a ported throttle body and snout, and tune will make anywhere from 550-575 rwhp/rwtq depending on pulley size.
I hope this honest review help.

love the E55/E63.. but the V will work a E55.. stock for stock they are fairly even.. but once you start modding.. the V will quickly set its self apart from the E55.

^^ not Necessarily true, some e55s have put down 440 to the wheels and run 11.9 stock.

True. Add in a MT... Even stock Vs stock a V will pull a E55. Again not to bash the AMG... The CTS-V is over all just a better vehicle. For the size of that car, it absolutely MOVES. Those that want to disagree haven't driven the car.

Granted, the cts-v is a bit faster and def handles better but actual car for car...Mercedes all the way. There are too may other things to list that are better on Benz! You mentioned the size...benz is bigger inside, I am pretty sure of that! IMO of course.

I have driven a cts-v for a half hour or so and I disagree. I am partial to cts-v's too as I had the older version 2004 and loved it at the time.

Recently saw a CTS-V at a road course kicking some butt. However, he wasn't amongst and serious cars/drivers.
"panty dropping points": that is BEAUTIFUL! (and agreed!)
