I am convinced many of the companies are using the same products and just re-labeling during final production, so it is silly to spend 2x or more for the same thing...

Yep, you're right as does Niche ( or MHS whatever their parent co is)
TSW makes some very good and inexpensive rims as well, and they have to pass more stringent load standards vs. some of the no name aftermarket companies....

Any rim can crack including the factory rims...I have destroyed BBS, Volks, Enkeis, and Fuchs, but in every case it was understandable. ..if you hit a crazy pot hole, curb, go offroading aka accident, bad things can happen.

I have had forgestars f14s on my CLK55 and I will never buy forgestars for my own cars again, horrible quality and attention to detail. I have made threads about how bad they were if anyone cares enough to search for them. Best thing about forgestars is how cheap you can get them for. I have actually bought a couple sets used, cleaned them up and flipped them easily for a couple extra dollars. After I get my E63 lowered I will look to get some HRE's.

Very odd that you would post the above and yet just a few days ago you were inquiring on a thread where someone is selling a set of used 20" Forgestar CF5s......

Came across these on Craigslist: 18" Authentic Volk LE37/LE37T wheels, 17lbs each, right bolt pattern but not sure if it will work on our cars though.

As for your previous post, I guess you were looking at 20" CF5 to buy and then re-sell ??? Regardless, the Forgestar rims are inexpensive and strong and should not give you any problems. If you had an issue, and bought the rims new, you could have just returned them as they warranty their products against defects.
Here is an example of testing data they do on each wheel design : http://www.forgestar.com/test/FORGESTAR1812F14.pdf

I've got Forgestar F14's on my track car. They arrived with some blemishes in the clear coat and the machined face scratches easily. 2 of the wheels now have bent barrels, as do my stock wheels. Having revealed the bad now for the good. I race on these and really beat on them. I've had off track excursions, one of which included up rooting a post set in concrete with a rim. They still balance and as long as they balance I'll keep racing on them. They are light for their size. I couldn't find a lighter rim. The 18x9" are between 18 and 19 lbs. The 18x10's come in under 20 lbs. Lot's of forged wheels have spun rolled barrels but are sold as forged when the spokes and centers are what's forged. It all depends on what you need from a wheel. If your into show and shine you may not be happy with the finish. If your into light and practical they're a good choice. As far as strength it depends on where the hit happens. Any wide barrel is prone to bending with a low profile tire so watch out no matter who's rim you end up with and no matter what it cost.
