You may want to check the "super strong" part. Even though the name implies forge, but the wheels are not.

is there first hand knowledge to the contrary? are these not as strong as the hre flow formed wheels built in the exact same manner? i have a set of cf5 wheels with enough torque to snap an axle on launch but never had a single issue with mine.

Can't beat forgestars for the price. F14s in 18" are roughly 19 lbs front and 20 lbs rear.

Forgeline GA3R. Unlike forgestar, these are actually forged

My wheel guy told me that my F14s are not forge like the name implied. They are light because they are really thin. I have yet had any problem but that probably because they are 18. My detailer who had the 20" CF5 on his E55 and the front wheels would crack because of the weight of the car. Both fronts cracked on his car. Such a shame because the wheels are so beautiful.

any research would reveal the forgestars arent forged. they are rotory flow formed . which allows them to be lighter than cast not forged wheels. lighter not thinner. when you go to extreme wheels in 20" and such the spokes will indeed have more stress on them. any documentation of the wheels your friend has cracking due to weight? or was the damage caused by the road and potholes(elevation cracks between bridges and the road surface, bumps in the asphalt caused by heat or freezing of the surface)?
http://www.forgestar.com/v2/about.php

as you can see the forgestar wheels meets all the usual gov. req. and has a lifetime structural warrenty. if they crack due to being thinner they wouldnt last very long as a business replacing structurally defective wheels

They're cast wheels from China just like Vossen and many other wheels with nice marketing departments. They're slick looking, have the fitments dialed in great, are a little overpriced for what they are but you've got to help pay for all these fancy ads with each set you buy. They make a good alternative to the OEM Chinese ripoffs and the high end HRE priced stuff.

A "rotary flow form" is still cast. The process results in a stronger outer hoop but the spokes are no better than a standard casting.

I have a set of 18x9 & 18x10 f14s ordered. I was not able to find a lighter rim without spending at least 5x more and even then they were barely lighter.

You should have got the 20s.

I went with silver to offset the Opal Black ...I am preparing a similar build to yours and Paul's but will go with slightly larger turbos. The question is whether I will setup a fuel cell and tub and flare the rear and go with a much wider setup.

I'm now ordering a set of 19" forged wheels , machined from a proper forged billet . Fronts weigh 9kg , back 9.5 kg .
All in price of £2700 , or a 1/2 of the price of most proper forged wheels .
Pictures are on my Flickr site .

how are they overpriced? hre builds the almost exact style flow formed for 4000$ !!! thats overpriced not 1380$ shipped to your door. could the finish be better? the q/c? yes but i can refinsh mine for 1/3 of the cost of a set of hre cast wheels

Strong & lightweight, check out HRE's Forged R40 or their Competition series.
Also the HRE FlowForms retail at 2900.00 for 19s & 3200.00 for 20s, minus a discount for MBWorld members.
