Gents,
Been a closet cls55 lover since I first laid my eyes on one but could never find the right one till now. Don't get me wrong, I love my E55 but could never fall in love with it's classy yet pedestrian looks compared to the CLS. From what I've read on these forums, stock for stock be prepared for less room, less visibility, slower (due to weight) and slightly better handling.
I have test driven a CLS but never for an extended period of time nor had the chance to actually stretch its legs properly. For those who have owned both, have you regretted it in anyway versus the E55?

I had a regular CLS550 w/tune and I definitely had some blind spots I wasn't used to. And my wife used to say (I bought the CLS for her Bday) she had the pretty one and I had the fast one. He'll, I even switched the rear seats for awhile.

I went from E500 to CLS55 but I do miss my W211. It was so easier to drive. CLS feels like a boat but the curves on CLS makes everything okay
p.s. Blind spots on CLS suck. I probably came with 20 close calls lol

I've always had a soft spot for the CLS as well. I'm still shocked at how roomy the W211 is inside compared to its size standing next to it. I personally think a slightly smaller cabin wouldn't be a big deal and I'm 6'5 260.

CLS looks really nice.... IMO better than W211. If I had a chance to chose again, I would go with CLS. 4 years ago, they were like $20k different in price.

there is a member who just recently did the exact thing you are asking. Hopefully he will chime in.
I, also looked and drove CLS55 AMG before getting E55 and tbh the back seats suck and for some reason I feel homely in the E55 but now after getting used to the E55 and tried it, I'd like to try ClS haha lol
