So I decided to do a test coat on my Pacifica. It turned out well except i need a toothpick instead of chopstick to get between the letters...here are some pics..i did about 4 coats and peeled after about 20 mins after the last one..

Also, need to get more protection..it rubs off but i don't want to scrape the paint so much...

I dipped the emblem on my E63 grille. First time to touch the stuff. It was pretty easy, but would have been easier if I'd known how to properly remove it. Either way, simple.

Finally got my emblems done....it was real easy and to do all the emblems took about an hour...I am gonna do the grille tomorrow.

First step is to drink beer of your choice, this is a crucial part of any car upgrade/fix. Next I used windex to clean the emblems up from dirt/debris..then let it dry. Next I used the box from the beer case to protect from overspray but as you can see, I got better with controlling the overspray and just used tape. After about 5 coats at various angles, I let it dry for 20 minutes and peel. I used a small screwdriver and carefully peeled the pastidip out from the letters. The larger badges on the trunk are super easy to peel since they are bigger.

Looks good!!!

Now does anybody have any tips for removing chipped and peeling paint off the wheels? I was thinking of just breaking the bead on the outside and masking it off and using aircraft paint stripper.

That looks good. How cheap does it look up close since it's not that smooth?

Totally depends on the application. If you layer it on thick and fast, it'll smooth out. If you do light coats repeatedly, it'll look more rough.

Looks awesome! As soon as I can wrap up this baby furniture assembly I will be giving this a shot.

djrabbi: Did you use spray cans or a paint gun?

I'll have to break down and try this with the glossifier. I'll peel my old matte grill spray off and have it match as well.

In progress on my badges:

any tips? going to plasti dip-fsrdo6vl.jpg

This is 4 coats of the anthracite metallic, going out to hit it with a 5th coat now. Undecided on glossifier, what's the consensus?

I tried to talk my wife into letting me do her emblems on her black elantra, she didn't go for it.

I'm going to be shooting my wheels with anthracite too. Got the badges done tonight, did 6 coats and then 2 coats of glossifier and I think they came out great. Now moving on to the chrome trim strip right above the license plate, and now also just taped off the chrome from ring that runs the length of the bumper. If that turns out well I'm going to go down the sides of the car and shoot those, and then the Kompressor badges and the grille. Stay tuned!

Nice! The contrast looks good, nice call on the anthracite!
