Push start button stopped working !
Any ideas what could be wrong guys ? I can still keep the key Fob in my pocket and open the doors and unlocked them through the handles but, no luck with push start

What a great idea !
In all Seriousness no Accessory lights, nothing. I open the door via keyless entry And it's beeping annoying saying don't forget your key and that's it I push the button nothing.

Probably not. There are no electronics in the button. It is simply two prongs that extend to release two locks inside the EIS to start the car. The only way it would be a switch is if somehow the prongs were damaged and not extending fully. More than likely it's a problem in the EIS. Although its difficult to diagnose a vehicle without actually seeing it/the problem
I have actually seen the wires broken from being shifted back and forth for a bunch a years. you would have to take off the shift boot and look down the shifter slot with a flash light to see..

Holy cow. Just had a brain fart back there. Didn't realize the start button was on the shifter. I would agree with trying the batteries in the key first. Do you have a red light visible on your key when you try to lock/unlock the car. Could potentially be the shift knob as well.
You can get just the shift knob (which houses the start/stop button) separate from the rest of the shifter. The only thing I would be concerned with is if the problem may lie in the shifter.
my button doesnt seem to be stuck. I press it and nothing happens at all, no key not recognized on the LCD. keyless entry locks and unlocks the doors and opens the trunk. I have no Idea. guess I have to take to the steeler or and indy... F*ck !
I think I have read somewhere on here that there two batteries in the key fob? Could one (which allows for keyless entry buttons) still be charged, but the one responsible for KeylessGo be dead? Seems like a cheap thing to fix/change before taking it to a shop.
Try to see if your brake lights work every time you push the pedal. Seen on the forums that the brake light switch on the brake pedal sometimes will act up and cause a no start. With the car started press the brake pedal so the light are on then shut off the car without moving your foot, now try to restart using the shifter button. worth a try!

I'm having the same issue, my push button does not work. Just recently after 10-15min of driving or leaving the car on my command unit, A/C & Heated seats, and parking sensors turn off, and the A/C goes from whatever I had it on to half way. I changed the small AUX batter under the cabin filter and my trunk battery isn't even a year old. I checked the voltage on both battery's as well. Going to test another shifter and see if it works. If not I'm thinking a module is bad or something. Has anyone had/have these issues?

this really sucks a$$ ! I hate using my key fob to start the car. Hopefully someone will find a EZ fix before I get raped at the steeler.either way I will find time this week to take it cuz I love my push start

will report back.
Thanks,
Eric
be careful when taking shifter off - very easy to break those prongs - i had to replace the ****er gate - wires were still intact - was only a couple hundred dollar fix - better thing is to replace the shifter boot/button with newer 211 style one - say from an E63 -
