WTF? Beyond words...hope all goes well. The OP should have gotten that car away from the dealer like several advised, oh well.

Yes I am having the dealer do all the work...I spoke to a few different shops in my area that work on MB and did not get the impression that it would save me all that much money and when the service manager called MB to negoiate the cost I figured it was worth giving them a try. Other members had similar issues with the injectors and the dealer called MB and the bill was covered in full by MB.

You looked at it first, right? That listing is for a pile of parts with broken camshafts

i would have put the car on a flatbed to houston
ATTN Shardul & Co.

Not too late
have them pull the motor and send it by third party freight there.

Once you do those two tasks, see how the car runs then before you take the next step.

Looks like they are prepping you to be bent over.
+1...with no lube. If you need major work...take it to a ASE MB shop or a shop that have experience in building engines. I've never taken non-warranty work to a dealer...NEVER...I've been there and getting bent over is not pleasant.

The 2 indy shops I talked to regarding this issues both charge $110 per hr compared to the dealer who charges $130 per and with the dealer getting Mercedes to chip in I think this should work out ok. Future work will be done at Imola Motorsport.
