the above link talks about how the Nismo GT-R for 2015 could do it in 2.0 seconds....that is just insane.....lighter weight with upgraded power and transmission.....the 2014 porsche turbo S 991 coupe should do it in 2.4....

Total BS. Not going to happen in a 600hp GTR. I'm sure Nissan has some fantastic engineers but to shave almost a second off the 0-60 time would be exceedingly difficult without a massive power increase.
So here you go. This 1300hp GTR pulled a 1.45 60ft time a while back on drag radials at the strip. His 0-60 was 1.97 seconds.

I also call BS on 2 seconds flat. For reference, a rumored forthcoming 1600hp Bugatti Veyron is expected to do 0-60 in 2 seconds or slightly less, but of course there's the price.

It's not impossible, but it's difficult. Gears + tires + weight is all it takes, but 0-60 is all marketing. The real question is what it runs in a 1/4 mile and on a road course. I would love to see what tires they will run on a production GTR.

I spent about 30 minutes driving a GT-R which had something like 600hp and I felt it was just too fast for the street. I'm on the freeway looking to open it up, looking way ahead for CHP and whatnot and by the time I punch it, I'm THERE where whatever cops I'm worried about would be. Just a weapon that car.
