Ok, I know I said in either this thread or the other thread of Nomad's that it was warm out and the car still was pulling hard. It was 92 out today and man I could tell a difference. I felt like I was going to melt when I was outside messing around and was dripping sweat from my forehead. I went out and ripped on it and it felt like I was 100whp down lol.
I guess the V isn't immune to the heat, maybe slightly better than the E55 but it was definitely hurting today.

Cool vid Urb, that thing rips! As soon as I can get someone to drive my car as well and get video, I will post it as well.

I am sure a stock pulley car would be considerably different from mine that has a decent sized crank pulley (9.1) and small blower pulley (2.5), so that is definitely creating some heat.

Very true no doubt. I love the Mercedes big block torque punch in the back at even part throttle. Now with that being said, E55k makes more boost stock, but the CTS-V is able to make more power with a comparatively smaller blower and less boost (8.9) because of it's greater displacement and better flowing heads. Also, this eaton has a superior inter cooling set up compared to the older Lysholm setup. As a result it suffers less from heat soak. Also, the little 1.9 on the V can easily make over 600rwhp with the only mods being added boost through upper and lower pullies, cold air induction, injectors/heat exchanger (safety and reliability), and a course a good tune. The large majority (NOT ALL) of pullied V8 Kompressors won't go anywhere near 600rwhp with all the mods dome under the sun. Heck even the great SLR engine would only make about 575rwhp. Also, don't forget these engines can easily have their blower easily swapped out for the larger ZR1 2.3 blower with limited fabrications and money relatively speaking compared to the SLR.

Guys have got 40whp from porting the V blower also, 30whp minimum and up to 50 has been seen on a heavy port (taking over 5lbs of aluminum out of blower). $1400 for a ported throttle body, intake snout and blower and you have an easy 40whp increase but more along the lines of 50+ with that combo since with only a blower port they see 40+ and only an intake snout port they have seen 10-15whp. Then the pulley changes are the easy stuff for more big increases. And a supercharger pulley will run you $140 shipped.

The Eaton Twin Vortices Series or Eaton TVST is a patented supercharger design that features twin four-lobe rotors, twisted 160 degrees.
...
recently GM announced it would utilize the Eaton Twin Vortices Series supercharger on the 2009 Corvette ZR1 and 2009 Cadillac CTS-V.

From my understanding (Remember I'm still stock) the V like many other vehicles really wakes up when the car ecu and tcu is tuned. Even more so if the throttle body is ported or swapped out for a larger ported LS7.

I agree 100%. The big differences between these cars are their light to moderate throttle response is stock guise. The CTS-V can feel a little lazy at part throttle application giving the impression that the car is not as powerful as it actually until you stab the throttle. The V8 Kompressor motor feel like a monster at any throttle application mostly due to the fact that this motor makes a ton a torque down low in N/A guise (see 2002 E55) and the off/on clutch feeling of the supercharger clutch engaging.

The mods and cost at the lower power level and track results are below, the higher number is everything the same below but adding a 9.1 lower pulley, ported throttle body, bigger heat exchanger, 850cc injectors and a mid sized duration and lift cam.

I have an inquiry, why is the price this low ?
You guys say that there aren't many who buy the V so I'd assume it has the same demand as our E55 and even then the price is low and ours isn't ?
Is it same quality ? Same output ?
Seriously even a used S/C pulley is around 300 plus shipped on this forum I think

Well, you have the the ZL1 Camaro also that can use some of the same parts, but these are also not cars out there everywhere so still fairly low numbers with both the ZL1 Camaro and CTS-V together.
I guess it would be similar to the E55 and then you have the SL55 and CLS55 that also use the same parts.
I think it is just the American market isn't a ripoff like the German market is for the most part.
$1200 long tube headers for the CTS-V instead of $2500 for the E55, etc.
While there has been great improvement on some parts prices and tuning costs for the E55/CLS/SL etc, some stuff still needs improvement.

Congrats David! That graph looks awesome. Did I read that right, the cam and larger CP got you to 664/669? Do you know at what PSI that was?

Exactly! It isn't the CTS-V parts are inferior in anyway, it's just that you pay a premium for anything German period.

The boost with the 2.5 upper and 9.1 lower pulley setup is currently 14.5psi and the tune is setup at 18 degrees of timing with 11.5 a/f ratio.

I'm getting used to them! I don't drive too far ever anyway and the feel of the car is awesome and the seats really give you a more track feel too. I would never change them. Light mods are going on this week I think. The car really runs nicely. Hopefully I can run the two cars against each other tomorrow...we'll see how the weather is and how busy I am.

60nomad: How close is Long Island to Westfield, NJ? I'm up this way just about every weekend from Philly and would like to check out your V.

With fairly light to medium mods the CTS-V is as fast as the Heavily modded E55k, this example doesn't have extremely great Negative DA or even list Long Tube headers etc..
