Of course I love seeing that E55k whip that modified Cobra, but how? Can anyone tell me why that Cobra lost if other than the Cobra driver can not drive or shift worth a shiznit? With the power the Cobra is putting down and the drag slicks the money bets would all be on the Cobra! With the E55k rated at 469HP flywheel (or maybe 493) what would be the average RWHP for the E55k?

I too belive the Cobra driver was just plain dumb, they both have just about the same HP at the flywheel, but the gearing on the Rustang is more aggressive than the Benz.

I am sure the Cobra had lots of traction issues. Someone needs to ask the guy who made the video 03E55AMG.... but it looks like the Cobra on the second run was closing the gap near the end of the race.

Not quite, I have seen the E55 putting out 400-415 to the wheels stock. And in top of that he was on race gas ( E55,FULL 100 octane) so thats quite a few more ponies. As I read that Cobra has run 114-117 traps pretty much what the E55's trap. However remember in a 1/4 race the auto has the accelaration advantage over the standard. That is with equal HP figures.
For example I used to run 12.9s with my 99 Vette 6 speed (stock), while other guys with the same car but automatic were running 13.3s may be 13.2s, then again I've always been very good at shifting and launching.

soundtrack wasn't bad.
The second time around it looked the cobra got a better start. Too bad that wasn't a real drag strip. Would have been nice to see actual times... :-)
