I've been having trouble with my COMAND cutting out momentarily at random times. By process of elimination, I believe it's the phone that is causing the trouble.

I removed both pieces in the picture from the MOST ring and everything seems to be working good. No dropouts.

The problem is I don't know what those two boxes are. i'm talking about the ones with the orange fiber optic cables.

Is one the phone and the other tele-aid? If so, which is which?

EDIT: How about these components? Different trunk. This one is mine.

trunk parts
i think the pic on the left is the telephone, next is the tele-aid and the part on the far right is the voice command system. but tell you what, record the parts number for each component and go to either getmercedesparts.com or other sites and place the part number there and it should bring up a descriptive title for that part. this should confirm it and then if no help there, just keep part numbers and call your local mb dealership and ask what those part numbers are, they should not mind helping out. hope this helps. sometimes the tele-aid and the voice command system can be switched around so look very closely at each part and look for any descriptive detail for each, sometimes there is something there to give the name of the component. good luck!

Thanks. Any idea what that little black piece is in front of the phone module?

It's mounted to the trunk floor and has a small electrical harness.

may have to do with your sirius sat radio?? i had that big "puck" on top of my trunk, i dont know what the "smaller" more nicer "puck" components look like, this may very well have to do something with the sat radio if you have that?

You have keyless go? It's looks to be the keyless go antenna for the trunk

Forget that first pic. I found that one on the net since it was dark last night and i could not get a good picture.

Here is my actual trunk:

What is that thing on the right with the heat sink?

I found the gremlin. It is either the left or middle module found in this pic
I bypassed them and everything works great.
I'm guessing one is he telephone and the other is the hands free module, but i am not sure.
