E55 AMG on Ethanol-Meth; 600rwhp BMW M5
The split cooling kit is no comparison for the trunk tank. Whether you get a trunk tank which we offer, or choose not to get one, you still have to split your cooling. The size of the reservoir is not the point, the point is to split the radiator fluid from the fluid going into the intercooler. The reservoir is just used as a circulation point and not used for packing ice or to further increase water capacity flowing through the I/C.

The trunk tank is used for packing ice, and adds at least 5 gallons of fluid capacity flowing through the intercooler.

Hope that helps brotha

Craig-
Thanks for the information, that helped me a lot, great insight.

How much are the IATs decreased by doing the split kit? Is it a worthwhile drop in temps?

Absolutely it helps. You go to think hot radiator fluid passing through the I/C is not going to benefit the car in any way. If anyone monitors IATS that have stock cooling, please chime in what they are.

I do know that split cooling, with a stock car and our tune, the IATS run roughly ambient. With a few stabs of the throttle it gets 20* over ambient with quick recovery thereafter.

They have sold these before, other people have done this mod with them or someone else so, someone on this forum had to have done this mod and had it dyno'd! I am not asking for all that much...I am asking to get what is claimed or at least close to it.
I'm just giving you a hard time and trying to be funny. I'm sure those numbers are achievable, but remember every car is different, every owner is different. The tuner is suppose to tune based on the owners needs, not put every car into kill mode. That's what separates a good tuner from your average. In 5 years, which tuner will still have the most cars on the road?

For example my tune will spool around 12.2-12.5afr and run 11.3-5 tapering to 11.0. My car won't have show off numbers or anything super impressive. It will be significantly faster than stock and it'll last me another 80k miles.

Talk to your tuner about your goals and let him give you an estimate. Tell him as much information as possible. All maintence, previous issues and how the car will be used. He can then give you some realistic numbers and at that point you can make your decision.

I picked BIP for tuning because Craig answered every PM in a reasonable amount of time, answered everything in detail not one word answers to make a sale. He made suggestions on how to make power/cooling. It took euro charged 4 days to get back to me when I see 4 guys on here posting all day. When I have an emergency I have Craig's cell phone bumber. ANYONE can tune, it really doesn't take a genius; who's going to put in the time to get it perfect?

Check out the +50 hp thread. Ignore the posts and horsepower and look at the AFR. The BIP tune runs high 12s spool up and has a nearly perfect AFR during the powerband. Finally it tapers to a low 11 at redline. This car is going to drive for a LONG time. Now check out the euro charged AFR right around 3800 then again 5000-5500 do you see that dip? Hmmmm......

I use to tune and am by no means am a nut swinger. I just know what to look for in a tuner and hp is the last thing. A quick adjustment to the dyno and the numbers can read 2000 if you want.

Guys the chart at the beginning of this post is from my car. Surprised the hell out of me

I can vouch for the quality of the work, car drives strong and pulls hard. I hit 100+ in a flash and have to reign the car in to avoid GHP.

The only mistake on the chart is that it's a 2006 model not 2005.

Holla.

Yeah that's nice spoke to our local tuner here. He is going to sort me out with the split cooling and bigger intercooler up front. Can't wait to see those results.
