Just did coilover conversion on my e55
Just got my car back from the shop did the coilover conversion. I went with D2 coil overs I was furious with the airmatic issues and this has been the best investment I've made with the car. The car feels much better more driver to car feel. The steering feels a little stiffer which I enjoy coming from driving a m3. The car handles corners a lot better. And those of you worried about harshness of the drive there is none ! The car glides over bumps like nothing. I feel I have a lot more control of the car now. I recomend this mod for everyone best thing you will ever do to your car. For those of you interested i paid 1,100 for the coilovers and around 700 for other misc parts 500 for labor. I did all the work at a shop in houston called M Power the best people you can deal with.

You will also have to have star program your airmatic settings once you take off your airmatic suspension it's going to say " visit work shop" I haven't done mine yet but I will sometime next week but doesn't affect the car

Nice, congrats.
Why have some people gone with E320 arms and you went with E500? The stock rear arms can't be used? I'm confused now .... I want to do this mod once I get her back but I want to buy the right parts the first time around. Also you replaced your bushings with OEM bushings or did you go with aftermarket?
Thanks!
Post pictures please when you have time

No all of them did not have airmatic you have an option when you buy the parts but you can go with e320 arms as well and yes oem bushings. You can also save whole deal of money if you with used arms which I should of done I know a couple of guys did that as well

You need to dial it in properly via the rebound adjustments.
People are way too quick to judge coilovers on any car, yet 99% of the time do not fully understand the dynamics of how a suspension works to deliver a proper ride.

Yes, took me around 3 weeks of daily adjustments, to find the perfect balance of comfort and performance as well as balance between front and back firmness and rebound.
