Just did coilover conversion on my e55
Just got my car back from the shop did the coilover conversion. I went with D2 coil overs I was furious with the airmatic issues and this has been the best investment I've made with the car. The car feels much better more driver to car feel. The steering feels a little stiffer which I enjoy coming from driving a m3. The car handles corners a lot better. And those of you worried about harshness of the drive there is none ! The car glides over bumps like nothing. I feel I have a lot more control of the car now. I recomend this mod for everyone best thing you will ever do to your car. For those of you interested i paid 1,100 for the coilovers and around 700 for other misc parts 500 for labor. I did all the work at a shop in houston called M Power the best people you can deal with.

Glad to see any member doing the conversion. I wish I could have people feel what I've been feeling for a long time now. The ride is so much better and the car handles a lot better than before!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

How many pound springs did you go with? Coming from an S2000, EVO, M3, and other fun cars... This thing handles like **** =(
Sure makes it up on the straights though =)

Ya the labor was pretty cheap I think he gave me a good price because I also did my headers cat delete straight pipe and also I did 172 s/c pulley and tune and heat exchanger and pump from him within the same month lol. If anyone is interested I'm pretty sure I can talk to him and give you guys a good deal on yours.

id second that! coils overs are great, and can be done real cheap. I spent 870 on my coils overs and 300 on control arms and did it my self. so for less than 1200 my car was on coils. I feel that most of the stuff on the parts list isn't needed. id say at that price it could be one of the best bang for your buck mods! increases reliability, and makes way more enjoyable to drive, not to mention theres no reason they couldn't be set up to help launches and help 60's

i bought the megan euro coilovers, and rear lower control arms. i reused shims from the airmatic, and the rubber "bushing" that goes between the body and the spring. Just make sure you get coilovers that come with top hats
