295/35 on stock rim
i have searched and cant find conclusive answer if 295/35 will fit on the stock rim without any major issues other than some rubbing...
will this size cause the ecu to freak out an think the front and rear are move and too different of rate and cause TC issues?
basically i am going to do this because i need a speedo calibration to show that when i was going 82mph the speedo will show 79mph, thus avoiding a reckless driving charge i got over the weekend in VA on road trip....
I was going 82 in a 65 which i cant believe is reckless in VA... apparently any ticket involving a speed that is more than 79mph is considered wreckless.. so you could be in a 70mph zone and driving 80mph and thats reckless lmao!!! what a nice ad valorum tax system VA has
oh and that's a criminal charge in VA lol so i got an attorney and said he can get it reduced to speeding pretty easily so no charge and no points reported to my license state of FL, but he said the speedo calibration would make him be able to reduce the speed and the cost so i want to do that too, hence my "will a 295/35 work on stock rim" question
I show that this tire size will show 79mph on my speedo while really spinning at 82mph..... then its the ole "my speedo was off, i didnt know"

yeah saw a guy on the jeep forums recently that got his reduced in the same area as my ticket... supposedly its pretty common thing there... so common that my attorney told me to get a speedo calibration... and i thought, while im at it i might as well add tires that throw it off even more

at what diameter diff btwn front and rear does the ECU freak out at?
Ive read some say 1% and some 2%... and that would make a difference since front 245/40/18 with 295/35/18 combo would be 1.61% difference

I think the front tires have a taller diameter... Why not switch front and rear? That'll give you .4" taller in the rear? If that doesn't work then borrow a set of stock front wheels to throw on the rear lol
If you happened to be in Miami, I have a set of stock fronts with tires you can borrow in ft myers.

if i put the stock fronts (245/40) on the rear for the calibration it will only inflate the speedo reading by 1.29 mph at speedo reading of 79mph, so that would give actual speed of 80.29... i need it to be 82 mph when speedo reads 79, which a 295/35 in the rear would get me

im really not opposed to my tires rubbing a little, i just dont know at what % variance from front to rear diameter does the ECU/traction control start freaking out.... is it 1%, 2%,3% ?
i mean i guess i could put 255/40 on the front and 295/35 on the rear and have only a .38% variance and know its safe but really dont want to have to buy fronts too

thanks... will run the 295/35's and see what happens
sux cuz i just got brand new 275/35s mounted as my toyo r888s just gave up the ghost (although i did manage to get 8K miles out off them which is pretty good for r tires)
