Apparently they are designed to break apart like that

The front and rear of the car is bolted to the carbon fiber passenger compartment, and other cars with carbon fiber structures also tear apart same way (ferrari enzo, mclaren f1, bugatti veyron, etc, etc).
Biggest scare is wrecking a car like that and not having comprehensive collision coverage :-P

Instagram user _blondiieee__ has reported that the incident involved her brother. In this image she shows her brother’s car claiming that he’s been hospitalized but “he’s ok” and that “he was hit by a Lamborghini doing 100mph”

Definitely not a hundred miles an hour. I bet that POS Camry does not have enough insurance to pay the car and hospital bills of the lambo! I bet it will be like squeezing blood from a turnip to get it from the owner as well. Poor Lambo owner got taken out by a jalopy!

Surely insurance on "supercars" is prepared for these situations.

It is such bull**** that instantly it is reported that it is because of high speed, etc or stupid comments like the 100mph. That car looks like it was going more like 50mph, yeah while the speed limit was probably 25 or 30 so technically he was speeding, the way they try to make it sound is he was doing something crazy (like 100).
That is pretty wild that the car breaks in half like that by design. That doesn't even look like that bad of an accident for something that substantial to happen.

Idiot in the black car is totally at fault. They were both doing the same speed if you look at the same distance they both travel over a 2 second period. Since the black car turned right in front of the Lambo....he will most likely be getting the ticket on this one.
But man......the Lambo driver sucks. He had all the time in the world to just turn left and drive around the black car and avoid any collision at all.

You'ld be pretty dumb or just not care if you had a car worth that much and not have an uninsured motorist limit on your insurance coverage to match the value of the car. Something like 25-35% of the cars on the road have no insurance, and out of the rest how many have 300k +?

That is a residential street. Speed limit 25 pretty much anywhere in America, except where its even lower, like 20 or even 15. Houses and driveways. Kids on bikes, mothers walking the family dog. Inconvenient stuff like that, only a lot more of it since in NYC people are always on the street walking to the bus, the train, etc.
He was zipping along pretty good. NOT 25. NOT EVEN 50. Maybe not 100, but the wreckage spread out over a block. That takes some good forward inertia. 60? 70 maybe? Maybe even more.
Regardless, going that fast on a residential street is grossly irresponsible. Any residential street. Doing it on on with a blind curve is even more so. Seriously, Put your dick back in your pants and chill for 30 seconds until you get out of the residential area.
You're pissed that the sexy lambo was taken out by a skanky camry? What if it was your brother teaching his young son to ride a bicycle that got in the way? What if it was your wife grabbing at Fido who just squirted out into the street? Would you still be mouthing off about how speed was not a factor?
I live in NYC, and I've seen some really crazy ish. Cars flipped upside down and spun in 25 mph areas, you name it. Stuff that in other places only happens on the arterials and freeways. Every time, I'm like WTF? How effin stupid do you have to be? Seriously. The kind of stupid that just begs for the ghost of Darwin to come back and make things right in the world.
So while the Camry probably has the insurance claim on this one, Captain Lambo seriously should be paying his visit to the Judge too.
