Improves handling, braking. Also by reducing rotational mass, about the equivalent of a 40HP increase.

It has been more than 5000 miles since new with EBC Reds and no problems with many hard applications above 110 MPH.

$1300 just for the fronts - yikes, you can pull the spare tire and cut-out your resonator to save more weight

That's a big HP number to toss around, especially for for a non power mod... While rotational mass does make a big impact, I'd like to see a source for this number...

That's non rotational mass. also, its not just about weight. Stopping power FTW lol.

PS. Great sig pic

yes, I totally agree, unsprung weight is a big difference on the corners - how do those rotors stop better than the stock ones? they're just lighter - correct?

and yes, I like my sig pic too

Yes, they are lighter, as well as being made of a harder iron than the OEM, different vane design if i recall, etc.. if you go into their site it gets a bit more in depth in regards to their advantages

Rotational mass, also known as kinetic energy. It takes less energy to spin up and therefore less energy to dissipate under braking.

It is a calculation which can be applied to any rotational mass. For example; look at the equivalent HP gains that are achieved by the replacement of engine crank pulleys with lightweight units as offered by various tuners. Usually in the range of a 10HP equivalence. Now consider the effect of a reduction of 40 LBS of rotational mass. This is partly why most exotics such as Ferrari, MB SLS, Porsche, to name just a few, all offer carbon rotors which save another 40 LBS or about 80 LBS. The MB SLS even utilizes a carbon fiber drive shaft (as do I) to reduce rotational mass. Years ago an acquaintance of mine said "add horsepower and go faster on the straightaways . . . add lightness and go faster everywhere". His name was Colin Chapman.

Learn more about the advantage on light weight rotors from "ML63"'s latest evaluation on his ML63 wit RacingBrake's two piece rotors (front and rear) installed.
