I have that with headers and I'm thinking of stepping down. I made less hp with the combo than I did with the 172 alone bc she got hot in one dyno pull.

Or go crazy with KC, meth and a trunk tank.

Meth is good, and compared to what we are used to paying for mods, pretty affordable. After all, the mullet-mobile crowd uses this stuff, so parts can't be expensive.

Read this on ECs Webpage "Use of this tune is at your own risk. With not having a clutch to disengage the supercharger, there is no way for the ECU to protect the motor in case of high intake air temps. Please monitor your intake air temps. We are not responsible for damage due to high temps."
Thats bad actually. I thought they could leave the BP Flap open completely when IATs get to high?
EC can you explain this?

Where do you think the recirculation valve routes boost back to?
The ECU does not have any maps that control the valve based on air intake temps.

If it would be possible that the bypass-flap or how you called it "recirculation valve", be fully opened at to high IATs, the IATs would drop immediately due to not going through the Kompressor, but immediately getting sucked into the engine.
What else can be done to protect the engine then? Is there anything at all besides a close monitoring by the driver?
For instance pulling timing tremendously when IATs reach critical limits?
You guys really have to chime in there for interested customers that are concerned about safety measures and protecting their engine.
I mean seriously, this pulley design is then only for the tuning enthusiast guys that use them on track, quarter-mile or those that have crazy cooling mods like trunk-ice tanks, killer-chiller and what not.
But what is with the "normal" drivers, especially that have the ability to drive longer WOTs like me on the german Autobahn, and/or that don't want to put extreme cooling mods in their car, like a killer chiller and/or trunk ice tanks (that is useless for long WOT phases, due to ice melting).?
I really dont want to put anything of that besides a larger HE + Split-cooling into my CL Class.
So for us, this pulley is useless?

wont be useless unless your cooling mods are not up to snuff ..... Tunes should remove a lot of timing with very high IATs already I imagine. I have heard of people making simple alarms for the IC pump if it fails. Just like they do for meth pumps etc.

For myself, I like the direct drive design, especially the reduction in rotating mass and plan on converting to it after we return to Florida.
I always monitor my IAT's with a DASHDAQ.
But, basically, as with all after-market modifications - - - "Youz buys yo tickets and youz takes yo chances."

In another thread I mentioned that a couple guys I know were having small issues with shifting after this pulley and EC tune was done but on a better note...I was messin around with another guy (that wasn't having trans issues) that ran run after run like 3 in a row then 3 in a row again and I think he only has a HX. Maybe he will chime in here and let you guys know. His IAT's were climbing but not out of control he said.
Meto (e55amgggg..) would know what he had for cooling if we can get him to chime in.

I was one of the early on people to install and test it... Basically the lag in shifting is what made me remove my clutch-less pulley. I've heard revisions have been made to the tune since then though.
Waiting for confirmation that the tune got it's wrinkles ironed out before I go clutch-less again. It did feel as amazing as people have been posting.

Lag in shifting is a pretty big issue to have and still release a product to the masses IMO. I have heard two things from two people, one works for EC and another is a distributor. One says they address the issue on a car by car bases and another said they have not addressed the issue ..... Hoping the latter was just a miscommunication of some sort That doesnt sound like EC.
Personally I am ready to pull the trigger depending on how they clear up this whole shifting/tuning issue.

Sure, i have a HE, front mount split cooling and a Bosch 10 pump. IAT"S didn't pass 135 and dropped down to 100 within 5 secs or so after getting off the gas.
BTW 60nomad your car is just a monster

...and thx...I love it! Overall I like the AMG better but the power is cool in the V!
P.S. Just a little surprised that EC hasn't chimed in explaining the issue that the FSP has on the trans. I am just curious...does anyone know why it is happening? Obviously not a huge issue as the cars do run better either way, again, just curious as I like to see the progress on the AMG's!
