Fixed Supercharger Pulley and Eurocharged Tune Gains 70whp+ !

it seems that everyone who is having issues with this have one thing in common,82mm tb.my car just has the 80mm fsp and cooling mods and I have no problems.i would be willing to bet if one of you put the stock tb back on and had Jerry send the tune for the factory tb your issues will go away. does anyone know if ec has personally tuned a car with an 82mm tb and pulley?i thought the car they used to sort out the tune was the shop car that was stock other than the fsp.i'm thinking since the test car was stock, like mine, they have that tune dialed in and that's why i'm having no issues.but if they haven't actually tuned a 82mm tb with the pulley and they are just tweeking the tune for it something isn't quit right.
maybe i'm totally wrong but just throwing it out there.seems weird that only people with the tb are having the problems.

Is anyone else out there with no issues? bucking, lean spike, limp/hiccup mode? if so list your mods and size of FSP

When I get my car back, I expect I will have some progress to report by the end of the week. I've got Plans A through D.
Regarding the hiccup, check the other TB hiccup threads. We've debunked the 82mm as being the culprit.

One of the first things I asked Denroll was did the 90mm TB still have the hiccup like the 82mm TB...he said yes. Wonder if a stock or 80mm TB would eliminate the hiccup if it does.... Then try a new tune adapted for that with the the FSP. Jonny C you have an 80mm with no issues before FSP, and after the FSP still NO issues (hiccup mode) also what are you using to data log....

84mm clutch pulley and cooling mods=no issues
80mm fsp and cooling mods=99% no issues.i have two minor issues.1st issue is on cold starts only, the car will hold idle around 1500rmps for 7-8 seconds then drop but the car will search for idle between 700-900 rpms until I drive it.as soon as I drive it(by the time I get to the end of my street)that goes away completely until the next cold start.2nd issue is when driving in "s" mode, under normal driving(say 1/4 throttle) the car likes to hold 3rd gear for awhile(4-5 seconds) before it shifts to 4th.
I'm using the torque app for logging right now.i haven't logged much because the car hasn't giving my a reason to think something was wrong.the couple times I've checked stft they are always between +1-+3
I don't think the tb is the issue.i think it's the tune for the tb needs more work.that's why I asked if anyone knows if Jerry has actually tuned a fsp and 82mm tb car.his tune for a stock car+fsp seems to be pretty much spot on.

Check your resistor again. Experimenting around, I pulled mine and plugged in the connector like normal. It ran OK, but the power delivery felt... soft. When I went back to the resistor in my current in-cabin setup, it was back to being a monster.

Do you have DIY on how take a the resistor off and run it into cabin for me to?

LoL, you can get into the cabin through a rubber membrane underneath the cabin filter into the passenger footwell. Realistically, ust take a look at how the resistor is installed and see if it is possibly moving around. Tape, zip-tie, or shrink-wrap it in place once you are certain it is making positive contact without shorting itself out.

So far the consensus is that if you are stock and have no TB upgrades then this mod is gold
If you have bigger TB then you might run into problems.
LOGGING IS A MUST with this mod as stated by everyone who has this mod.

Hello guys,
so what is the current stage with those FSP? Who still runs them? What issues have been sorted out (i heard about the hiccup mode) and what issues do remain?
Anyone that uses it, still recommends it?
Or should i go with the 84MM SC pulley and a 168crank pulley?
Actually i didn't wanted to mess around with the cranks pulley in the first place, but if the FSP still has the issues its not that good for daily driving i assume?
Thanks alot :-)

Bramage and I may have figured out the correct MAP sensor for those of us with the hiccup that can't be tuned out. He found some stuff on a UK site talking about a specific MAP sensor curing their limp mode problems. I got an email from a Dutch guy saying the part number I gave him had been superseded by a newer sensor. Funny, because the number I gave him was the one I got from the dealer, which superseded our stock MAP sensor part number. The good news is that the sensor Bramage found showed up as the same Bosch number as the new part number I got. The best news is that I was able to order it from O'Reilley's for $24.99. Dealer wants over $80 for one of these.

^ He still runs it. Close to a fix on his Hiccup we think, but requires a "Special" MAP sensor. I think some others are still running it as well. I took mine off due to overboost. I may go back with a smaller pulley in the future. Denroll is the R&D guy :P

Mercedes replaced the Bosch one with a Japanese one by Fuji Electronic (Part Nr: 0051537228) for the reason that the Bosch units causing problems. So unless your found unit has a larger boost "range", i would not go with the Bosch units.

Ive had the fixed pulley in since january, the start was a little sketchy with the car going into hiccup mode, however, since I received a revised tune from Jerry at Eurocharged a few months ago, i couldnt be happier. The E55 is my daily drive and i have put many miles on the clock since the retune with the car running stronger then ever! I have had a slight hiccup, but it was nothing to worry about as the car recovered quickly on its own accord without me having to cycle the key and drove perfectly normal afterwards. It has yet to return. My long term fuel trims have settled at -0.8% on bank 2 and -3.9% on bank 1. I honestly tried the 84mm clutched upper pulley for a while a couple months back and the difference in power delivery and the switch between vaccum and boost was phenominal. Within a week i had the 77mm FSP back in the car and was back to being forced in my seat on acceleration. Mind you i also missed the distinct whine the supercharger makes with the FSP. Manuyc and LM7 have had their FSPs in for a while now too driving perfectly. Denroll has had a little trouble with the Hiccup but after the latest tune it has become significantly harder to trigger for him, but he could still trigger it on the occasion. If your still on the fence with this mod, eurocharged do have the weistec 170mm crank pulley kit which would go nicely with the 84mm, for a touch more added boost then a 77mm FSP would put out, however i couldnt be more happier with my current setup. The car is running better then it ever has, even when i first bought it completely stock. Jerry has certainly put alot of work into the tune for these things and its certainly now working the way it should! Eurocharged also have many weistec supercharged builds which they are also tuning and running very strong, my guess is the software between the two (FSP and Weistec Supercharger) would be remarkably similar for the obvious reasons of not having a clutch on the supercharger.

I'm trying the sensor that replaced the sensor that replaced the original sensor. Seems like the dealer network in the US might be lagging in updating to the latest part number. I'll list all the numbers to make it search-friendly:
-Original MAP sensor MB part number: 004 153 3328
-Superseded by: 005 153 7228. As of July 2014, this was the latest version my local dealer (in the US) listed.
-Superseded by: 006 153 1428. I got that info from "MB Specialist" in The Netherlands.
The corresponding Bosch number for this sensor is 0261230191. It lists as being fully interchangeable with all three part numbers above. I was able to avoid the dealer molestation tax and order it from O'Reilley's for $24.99.

What is prompting your sale?
I have an 83MM I would also sell (same price I guess) that was run for a week. My issue was simply overboost. I am running a 190mm lower and with the 83 upper I was pushing >18.5 lbs. It would go limp mode any time I hit 17.5 (ish). I dont really want to dick with lower pulley at the moment.
If I do go back to FSP, Ill probably do a smaller lower pulley with a 77mm and try to get 17 lbs and not go over or map clamp and go for broke HA
I agree with a previous post: The instant on boost is addicting. i LOVED it.

Ever since i used Denroll method of putting the resistor in the passenger side cabin and getting one with more ohms. i Have not had any hiccups of late. plus the the dyne tune from jerry was done at Rage-Tek. only problem that I do have is my AFR/s are in the 10's all thru the power band
