I am afraid you aren't fitting those on the E. Got some more mods for the V btw, looking to be at 690-700 this go around.

Bigger intake, bigger throttle body, different supercharger lid and intercooler from ZL1 Camaro and meth injection.

Are you talking about track tires as in getting a separate setup for the track? Like different wheels and tires? Or just switching to different tires on your stock wheels?

E55Greasemonkey runs BFGoodrich drag radials on his stock wheels and seemed to do well at the track one time I was there with him in Bradenton. The only trade off is they are completely different than street tires when it comes to the rain (drag radials in general), but the BFGoodrich do look to have a lot of grooves still so they may be better in rain. I would talk to him about them.

The 275/35/18 BFG drag radials seem like the best bang for the buck, and fits on the stock 18x9 rear wheel. It bulges a little, but doesn't look bad. An 18x9.5 wheel is really the perfect fit though.

I was running SL550 18x9.5 wheels with my drag radials, but really wanted my wheels to match and the car to look stock at the track...so I bought a spare set of E55 wheels on craigslist and sold the front wheels on ebay. You can also buy a pair of AMG replica wheels from oewheels.com ....This way you can bolt the wheels on/off at home without having the hassle of mounting/dismounting/balancing every time. You also risk scratching your wheels when this is done. You really don't want to drive on these every day anyhow, they will wear out somewhat quickly..they get especially chewed up if you spin the tires on the street. Also, they really don't work that well unless they are heated up (burnout) so you're really not gaining extra traction on the street with all our torque and the sand on the roads here. I have driven on them to the track and back many times, even got caught in a LIGHT shower of rain without a problem. I run them at 40 PSI on the street, air down to 22PSI at the track, then use my OEM air compressor (2004 E55 did not come with a spare) to reinflate them before driving back home.

Yours made excellent numbers and the car should run well but this ^ statement...NOT A CHANCE! That dyno guy should have his ridiculous dyno checked! I wish he were local to you so that you guys could run and let's see how much of 600rwhp he really has from just those mods!

YIKES!

If the gains aren't up to par, I think you should try going back to the stock exhaust just gutted...just a guess!

Don't want to jump this thread though...we'll chat.

I bet he wasn't to happy about losing after spending all that money compared to your what $3000? Just his cams probably cost that much not even installed!

Good kill on your buddy's N/A!

Those American Racing headers do sound great on the 6.2s though.

Hey Let's get this story straight here for the record!!!
This is the owner of this Naturally aspirated E63.
The 1st race you had 1 car length on me the same outcome about for the next run. The next 2 I had you by that much if not more. The 3rd race when we got to 110 or slightly higher I was already a full car a head and pulling. The same can be said for the forth race. But don't worry Because I went out and purchased a white hero3 gopro myself so Now it's on and poppin. All races are 1 from a dig 2 from 60/ 70/ 80 rolls unless your car heatsoaks so bad that you have to park it for 3 hours while it cools down!!!
Just so all of these keyboard bandits on here don't get it twisted here are the correct mods:
MHP Cam shafts, Longtube Headers, X-pipe arpbolts and M159 sls buckets, Row air boxes, charcoal filter delete and afe pro dry s filters not to mention MHP V3 tune for all modes plus the cams!!!

Finally you didn't want to run from a dig even thought you have Michelin pilot super sports.
Plus I ran you in your sweet spot and beat you twice with a naturally aspirated motor. So don't get to happy.

For anyone looking for a master certified mechanic with 20 plus years experience there is only 1 mechanic in the whole state of Florida that will qualify and it's Jerry MB service in Oviedo, Fl the same mechanic that worked on Dad's C63.

Basically ripped down and rebuilt my entire block plus all mods. Purchased the E63 and not less than 3 weeks later one of the springs let loose plus a valve guide and destroyed piston #4 hence the need for rebuild I was just very fortunate enough that none of the parts made it's way into the motor.
Once that was diagnosed there was only 1 company I can turn to that would have the knowledge, parts, vbox verified, 1/4 mile runs and world records and that is MHP.
Not only did Andy go out of his way for me buy replacing the piston, rings and rod for free but lead me down the path to rebuilding the entire engine. I can't say enough of how much I appreciate his help, generosity (late night phone calls) and of course his parts to make me a Very satisfied customer both being a proud owner of a Mercedes and a fellow enthusiast. Any and all questions I had about the entire car including electrical, engine parts, pistons, compression, heating, oil consumption everything and anything he had it stored in the mental Rolodex.. I feel very fortunate to have meet Andy at this point in time regardless of the engine rebuild. Thanks to all and vbox, videos and 1/4 mile runs (a lot of them to follow soon)!!!

Are you local to Orlando? We are planning another small AMG meet at Orlando Speed World in the coming months, hope you can bring your E63 out next time...Perhaps you'd like to fry this fish??

Cool, I'll keep you posted...I'll be heading next to Fixxfest in Tampa in November to race. The track is usually not prepped well, so I'll probably just run street tires due to the long drive. Hopefully there will be a couple AMG's there as well.
