The simple things that make a job easier
While putting together another big motor last weekend, I realized how much I like this gasket remover. Easy to use and it allows the sealer to gum up VS flake off and fall into the motor.
Some of you may use this but since Mb uses a ton of tough black gasket sealer on a lot of the parts, I thought I would share real quick. I know most people are not doing big gasket jobs but this is a time saver on doing valve cover gasket updates , rear main seals and oil pans.

The mercedes flywheel lock tool is also a handy special tool to keep around. Take out two starter bolts, slide starter out and slide the lock right in.

Yup, that remover is called for since 06 or so when the 272,273 motors came out. ( much more sensitive to work on as valve covers are also cam bearings , etc) After using it, you should use the neutralizer , also called for.
It will loosen our sealant also cause it's the same sealant used.
