Depending on your car's mileage and the last time it has had the fuel filters or pumps changed you may consider just changing them out anyway, The recommended interval to change your fuel filter is at 60K, is this the same mechanic that was having an issue with the OBD2, the mechanic you said you were no longer going to use? I was supposed to pick it up yesterday but he found a leak. Car was there entire time.
He did oil change, transmission tune up( oil change, filter etc), changed bearing on kompressor, changed another pulley(was making sound), engine oil was leak fixed(something minor). All together its gonna be around 1000

With over 130K on your car it needs to be replaced anyway. If it is leaking externally it should definitely be replaced. It was replaced at 69K per your VMI.

I just bought my 55 2 months ago. I have spent over $1600 in parts to get all of the maintenance items up to date. I may be a little more meticulous than others, due to my background. I do not charge myself any labor either. Instead, I reward myself with a well maintained car that is a blast to drive.

I am the same way ... maintain all my own stuff .. buy good quality parts and good maintenance. No CELs or other codes are allowed on any of my cars. Things replaced before they can happen.

$250 with labor is very cheap. Is he replacing the sender or fixing it? Senders are not that cheap.

I would recommend replacing it. This is one area that you do not want to cheap out on.Fuel pumps and filters are far less expensive than an engine. Being proactive with your maintenance will cut down on major failures.
