People get so butt hurt on this forum it is UNREAL. LMAO
All of it over a car making more unusable power on the street, Chicago streets are so dirty if you make 200WHP you will start a smoke show.
And just for technical sake No Replacement for Displacement, 6.2 W/Blower Vs a 55K the 63 Series will win every time mod for mod as long as it has a blower. They have a SLS twin turbo making 850hp+ on a 63 motor. Sure it is more expensive, it is newer technology.
I think the 55k drive train is ideal for the G55 and off-roading, all that TQ would come in handy.

That may be true, but adding a supercharger to a 63 car is going to cost you $15k, and that's just for the blower, not labor for instal, tuning, and any internal upgrades you'd need to be doing. You'd probably be at over $20k out the door to set that up, which you could BUY an E55 for!
Also they produced 1/3 of the E63 W211 as compared to the E55 W211. The E55k has held its value considerably well, especially when you take in the factor that so many more were produced. So another question to ask yourself is how much do you appreciate rarity? I regret not buying a 30th Anniversary Termi as that's the one that got away in my book, that or the Mystic Blue Coupe, DROOOL
If you are buying a car for the Highest HP or TQ number buy a 65 and stop wasting your time (But its only 6Liters ) the power is unusable in the US, without serious legal implications and I don't go to the track, cause insurance wont cover that accident.

So salty... I'm not attacking your choice of vehicle. This thread was about comparing the cars and my point was simply that it is less costly to get bigger numbers from a 55 than a 63. You are right, a blown 63 will walk most fully modded 55s,but not everyone wants to or has the money to make that type of investment in their vehicle. I was looking at 63s myself, but the easy modability of the 55 led me to choose that instead, and I think a lot of people here went through the same decision process.

Unusable TQ ? I will run any 63 n/a and will be willing to put money on it that my e55 will win. U can use that saying for displacement all you want in a roll race they stand no chance period. With that being said I know everyone isn't torque and hp crazy and just because the e55 is faster does not take anything from the m156, it's a iconic motor no doubt I could afford either one it's the modding that draws more favoritism to the m113k or at least that's why I choose the e55 op u will be happy with either one !

if you have the itch for lots of performance mods, go with the E55. i've personally had good luck with my E63, but i do not daily drive the car (put 5k miles on it over the course of the year i owned it) it performs very well to my standards. over the years, with these cars now being 5-11 years old now, it's luck of the draw with what you buy. do the most research you can on the specific one you want to purchase since that's really all you can do. imagine what stories the car would tell you if it could talk.

E55 all the way! My friend had a CLS55 and totaled it. He then bought the CLS63 and totally regrets it looking to sell it. Also, why do you think Mercedes got away from the 6.3l and went back to the 5.5l

If you're talking brand new cars yes most AMG's cost more then an M3... But most here bought their AMG's used and a used W211 AMG costs less then the same year M3. We all know Mercedes have no resale value lol.

2008 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG, 2017 Porsche Macan S
In 6 years of ownership, I haven't had any problems. Still smooth as silk and by far, the best car I have ever owned. Now completely paid off! Will probably look to trade it in for the new E63 Model S in a couple of years.

Love my E55
For what its worth, my colleague bought an E63 since he couldn't find an E55 that he liked (personally I think he was rushing it). Paid $2000 grand less than I did for an 07 E63 (65k) than my 05 E55 (31k). There is a little regret due to the stock engine issues that "may" happen with the E63 but who knows the future.
Having driven both, the E63 brakes "feel" more natural due to a lack of SBC. I personally like the looks of the E63 front fascia over the E55 but I like the E55 instrument cluster better than the E63. A few other things are "better" on the E63 maybe, but hey the E55 has a a supercharger and that overruled everything for me .
I don't think you can go wrong with an E55. Save the $3800 on the extended warranty and buy headers and a posi diff instead.

I normally don't care to get into meaningless bickering contests on the forums, but you seem to be extremely ignorant. You are arguing a subject that is solely based on personal preference - what is the point?!
