DIY control arm?

Yes, actually the only only thing wrong is the torn rubber on the bushing. I'm just going to use your DIY and just replace the bushing. Dealer wanted 1100 to replace both when the only problem is one boot is torn. What a waste!! On a scale of 1-10 how tough would you rate this job?

After looking at the pics it is actually the boot that's close to the rotor. I made a mistake. Therefore you say it's best to just get the whole assembly? Still a lot cheaper than what the dealer quoted. Thanks

Is it the aluminum arm on a 45* angle or the black arm that the strut attaches to? The aluminum arm is the thrust arm and the black one is known as the spring link control arm as its the one supporting the car. If its just the boot on the joint and its not the ball joint that presses into the spindle, it's the whole thrust arm. Just beware that some arms don't come with the bushings installed. The last set of Febi Bilstien ones i ordered came with the bushings installed. MB thrust arms do not.
