Torque arm or strut arm? The bushing install link in my sig takes both of them off the car.

Yes, actually the only only thing wrong is the torn rubber on the bushing. I'm just going to use your DIY and just replace the bushing. Dealer wanted 1100 to replace both when the only problem is one boot is torn. What a waste!! On a scale of 1-10 how tough would you rate this job?

The toughest part is getting the ball joint out of the steering knuckle.

Is it the boot or bushing? If its a ball joint boot do the arm. If its a bushing the 63's use a different bushing than the 55's and all other 211's. it needs to be compressed before being pressed in. Without the proper tool I doubt it's posable. You may just want to replace the whole arm pre assembled. Doing the bushing without the tool =10 a whole assembled arm = 2 on the difficulty scale. Aftermarket bushings like the kmac may be easier as well. They press in like standard bushings.

After looking at the pics it is actually the boot that's close to the rotor. I made a mistake. Therefore you say it's best to just get the whole assembly? Still a lot cheaper than what the dealer quoted. Thanks

Is it the aluminum arm on a 45* angle or the black arm that the strut attaches to? The aluminum arm is the thrust arm and the black one is known as the spring link control arm as its the one supporting the car. If its just the boot on the joint and its not the ball joint that presses into the spindle, it's the whole thrust arm. Just beware that some arms don't come with the bushings installed. The last set of Febi Bilstien ones i ordered came with the bushings installed. MB thrust arms do not.

It's the aluminum. Thanks for clearing that up. Do you have a part number for it?
