Battery Problem!! Please help
Ok so I've searched and searched. I found many threads about the auxiliary battery etc. I still can't really figure it out. Here's the issue. She been parked for about 5-6 weeks. I went to start it last night and nothing. So I got out my battery charger and hooked it the the main rear battery. It seems fully charged, as I let it charged for about 1hr. I then open the door and I notice "only the center dash lights are on like seat controls etc. I took the Aux batt out. Put the charger on it and it won't even charge it seems. So I then put the Aux batt back in, then went and re put the charger on the main batt. I went to put the positive on the main batt and it kinda sparked more than it should. I didn't attach it all the way since it sparked like that I immediately took it off. So is it just the Aux battery? Nothing smoked or nothing funny. Should I just take both batt and get them tested. I do not have one available here at home. Thanks in advance as I know this has been spoken of so much.

The auxiliary batter has absolutely nothing to do with starting. It's only a back-up power supply for the SBC system. I would recommend starting by removing the battery, putting it on a charger for the night then take it somewhere and have it tested. Chances are that it has a dead cell and when sitting, it will seem to be holding a charge, but when any kind of load is put on it, the voltage is probably dropping really low.

A dead battery does not recharge in one hour. If the battery is over three years old and the car sits for long periods chances are the battery is in need for replacement. Ditto for the aux battery. Hope it helps.
Battery maintainer is money well spent when the car sits for long periods. Just checked my E63 which has sat for a month, now -6C here, the voltage showing is 12.5 volts on a maintainer of course.

I thought the procedure to reset the ESP was start the car using the key, in case you have keyless go. Then turn wheel all the way left, hold two secs, all the way right, hold two secs, then all the way left again and it should reset. Anytime battery is disconnected you may have to do this. Also the one touch up windows and sunroof need to be reset by holding them up for two or three seconds each.
