Which Quaife lsd?

Hi

I have a May 2003 built W211 E55. Going by the attached pictures does anybody know which Quaife diff I need?

I have taken some pics of the diff housing and the axles hoping someone can determine what I have.

Regards,

OZZYAMG

This place is a joke.
Bolt-in axles means you have the smaller differential. The larger diffs, with snap-in axles, were fitted at the factory beginning 5/15/03. I have also seen on the SL55 snap-in axles with the smaller diff...not sure about E55.If you want to PM me your VIN number, I'd be curious to check the exact build date. I can also pull up your data card/options if you don't already have that info.

EDIT: There is some conflicting info from MB parts, some VIN's show 9/30/03 as the production change, however this may be just the cars not headed to USA.

You have the 230-351-01-05 housing from your pic, Quaife says the 211055 is the correct one. I can't seem to find the correlation between the Quaife 211055 part number and the QDF7V ?

2003 SL55,2020 GTC ,2017 GTS sold ,2002 G500 Sold,2003 SL500 Sold,
I have an 03 sl55 with the bolt on axels ,this is an easier install then the other style IMO, I bought mine from ACG in CA with the install kit, there were 2 choices and mine was the more expensive of the two,i believe the earlier diff is the $$$ ,if you do it yourself make sure you have good inverted torx sockets and a good set of snap ring pliers there's a DIY thread somewhere in here .it made a big difference for me for roll on full throttle runs, car always came out of the hole straight when launching ,however from a roll sometimes one tire would spin and car would kind of "tank steer" if that makes sense not a good feeling at speed after install when tires spin car is much more predictable

bolt in axles on the E55 means you need the smaller Quaife diff. I've done extensive research on this and ALL 2003 E55s as well as some 2004's need the smaller Quaife diff. I've looked at several cars and all 2003s i've seen had the bolt in axles, regardless of how late they were built.

SL55s may be different.

My 04 e55 was built 10/03 and I DO NOT have bolt in axles, I I have the qdf9v. If that helps...also Quaife has an updated model for the qdf9v.
