Thumping Sound from Differential Area - 07 E63
Question everyone.. I drive a 07 E63 and when I'm cruising on the HWY a get a pretty good thump from my differential when I slightly touch the accelerator and let off the gas. The same noise is heard when the car drops gears 4-3-2 upon stopping. Could it be the flex plates, diff mounts,diff slack, lack of diff oil (replaces 20k miles ago), or perhaps subframe issues? Anyone experience this? I'm running LTH and a TUNE but no LSD.

Personally would check the rear trans mount, flex plates. Diff slack, or oil level would be a whine but a clunk when going into gear as the bearings wear from lack of lube. Sub frame possible but you would feel it in the ride/handling quality but it never hurts to look.
