just contacted a guy who recharges range rover abs accumulators which is similar to ours. He is willing to try and recharge the sbc accumulator just needs a core accumulator to test. So anyone out there with used or non working accumulator contact me so we can see if these accumulators can be recharged. the process involves taping a valve to the top of accumulator then regassing the bladder with nitrogen to the proper level of 68 bars. the would make regassing accumulator easier in the future since valve is installed on top.

That would be cool if this "fix" works, but in my opinion, far from worth the risk due to it involving the brake system. I know replacing the accumulator is a little pricey... But just fix it right rather than band-aid it and run the risk of the band-aid falling off and your brakes not working 100%.

why even waste time when theres a FREE warranty repair or check done by the dealership.

Its better that they work this out now than when all these cars are out of warranty. The 2001 upto 2003 are all effected by that so imo its well worth the risk.Originally Posted by biggking

Yup. Accumulator is not part of the SBC warranty yet a new one come with the new pump anyways. Go figure. Regardless, if I get around to replacing my failing accumulator your friend can have it for testing.
