Clicking

During idle, does anybody have a clicking noise from the engine. Mine is an 04 model. I thought if it was a motor mount issue, all of that was taken care of last year.

I have a faint clicking noise... no idea what it is. Was going to mention it at the 10K service.

Does it sound almost like an electrical spark? You can only hear it at idle?

On my 04 E55, it sounds kinda like a diessel engine inside. I wasn't sure if that was normal or not. But for a 90K car, it sounds a bit cheap when the glang glang glang glang sounds at idle.

On start-up I have the same Diesel engine type sound as well. I haven't noticed it after it's warmed up, but I'll check.

There is a known problem about the noise. There was a TSB about the engine mounts being defective which causes the enging tapping noise, like a valve tap or diesel. It happens at idle to 2500 RPM. I had it too on my E500. Check with your service tech. It is under warranty.
