Bored with my car..

I don't really feel like spending money so I was considering plasti-dipping my wheels black... Just not sure how it will look... Or how long it will last ... Opinions/advise?

Plasti dip lasts a really really long time.

E55Dimon and I, have our whole car dipped and it has held very well.

Mine has seen very harsh winters too and still lasting. I never even got a chance to touch up

One of my other cars is dipped. Just curious who here has peeled their car? That's when you know what's really held up. I had 4 full gallons sprayed on and then I did another 3 gallons of gray... The gray is coming off in small parts but the matte white is on for good.... Ordered $80 of dissolver that should be here tomorrow... Let's see how that goes.

I have the grill, bumpers, running boards and mirrors done on my Tundra and it holds up awesome. My kids use the bars to step up in the truck and it has not peeled yet. I thought for sure it would. I have a buddy that does his chrome Escalade rims for salt protection every winter and then pulls it off in the summer. Plthe more coats you out on the better it comes off. I would say no less then 5 coats.

I did my audi A4 Avant years ago, I was the 3rd person to dip a whole car... it really can take some abuse. I dropped a screw driver on it head down(not on purpose) and it left no mark on the car beneath

Here is how it peels...

From M3toAMG, My car is in the shop right now, as soon as I get it back, I'll snap some pics for you. The dipped stockers have been on since October

Thank you sir, i know how to do it.. just not sure how it would stand up to road grime and other things kicked up off the ground. Specifically the outer edge around the tire.. seems like that would be the first area to start to peel with the tire possibly rubbing on that edge. im very picky about small stuff, so a smallest peel and ill want to redo the entire wheel, so im trying to avoid wasting my time. I sprayed my emblems and they have they have held up(pressure washers, hand washing, Dumb people ect..)

Ill also me replacing my rear tires this spring.. Mounting/Dismounting.. i assuming it will peel.

Mounting/Dismounting was the only time the dip got peeled off other than that it has held

pretty well. Make sure you do at least more than 3 coats. My whole car has 6-7 coats.
