2004 E55, 2003 IS300
W211 E02 AMG SOUND SYSTEM
Has anyone done the conversion? If so, what are your thoughts and do you have any pictures of the equipment. I have a retrofit kit on its way from Germany, but curious what others think. I know it's supposed to be a 705 watt Bang & Olufsen system, but that's all of the little details I know.

Good info. But I'm hoping to find first hand listening experience. I've pulled up as much info as possible but can't find anyone who has done a full retro on a W211. I will be doing pictures and before and after comparisons

I was able to source a kit from Germany. I have been told it's a E02 retrofit kit, but no one can tell me what this kit actually comes with. I will be sure to update with pictures and part numbers once the kit comes in.

This kit is designed to convert your 810 Harmon kardon system to 810+ E02. The system still uses the original AGW (but in not sure if it still acts as an amplifier of any sort, and adds two additional amplifiers and replaces all of the Harmon kardon speakers.

I listened to a cls with the e02 amg audio and to be honest, wasn't that impressed. 
I too was considering putting together a e02 system for my E55 but after hearing it I felt it was not worth it. I felt that it wasn't as good as even a most bus w220 audio system. The tweeters in the doors with the amg logos were kinda cool though 
I would recommend listening to the system if you get the chance before dropping the money on the system. If I remember correctly every single speaker is different plus the extra amp and sub. I would think the system would cost a few thousand $ used if you can find one and new, don't ask. I priced it out
I've seen whole E55's go for less. I think a better system could be built aftermarket with different speakers, amps, processors etc for the same or less $.
