I was trying to think of when I took the car over any crazy speeds, 120mph blasts seem to happen regularly and I remember 1 time I was running a B6 S4... we both seemed to be cruising along at 100 still accelerating(he may have been racing, I was cruising) and he stabbed the throttle around 115, so I punched it... before I knew it the car was shutting me down, and he wasn't anywhere to be seen.

187, and I felt it get a little touchy over 170. I probably won't do it again unless it's in a more controlled environment. 150-160 is good for the heart though

I've been 180 mph plus numerous times, and felt very stable. It helps having the Autobahn as part of my daily commute.

182 racing a bike and that was on GPS. If I stayed in it there's no doubt i could of broke 200 but the bike was beat and you know how traffic is in Mexico

182 from GPS is close to 195 indicated. Speedos are notoriously inaccurate at those speeds. you were fawkin flying...

It defers from state to state. Back in 08 I got arrested for doing 135 in a 45 (back road no traffic) in my 03 cobra. The law used to be double the speed limit and you get arrested now it's 30 over and arrest. I got hit with 3 class-a misdemeanors and had to pay my lawyer $2k plus $1k in court fees to make sure nothing would be on my record. I got lucky I was 18 and leaving for college so the judge cut me a break no community service and nothing on my record.

This is hilarious, I love this thread. 155mph a few times on some road somewhere, sometime ago, now I have stage 1 Eurocharged and no limiter so who knows when I will hit 200 . It kept pulling right up to the limiter and it was a blast.
In Canada now you can lose your car for 40kmph over the limit, that is just 25mph over the speed limit and our cars can do that if you sneeze while driving and hit the gas. I love the torque and the car, just over 4 yrs now and a ton o fun. p30amg08 I love your rides, I am looking for an M3 to track as well. Great stuff! Cheers guys!

I knew I was flying but I didn't know exactly how fast until I looked at the GPS and was like damn no wonder I was pulling away so hard. The crazy thing is how fast it got there. It was on a long down hill part of the highway and did a 6.9 60-130 on flat ground so it was maybe a 20 second pull at most.

Just hit 165 ish on the way home from the Rolex 24 hr in Daytona. Speedo stopped at 160 so it's a guess.

Next time you do a strong pull like that ....make sure that the miles per hour is listed digitally on the IC, then come back and tell us (for the guys that have the 160 speedo) if it goes higher digitally ... Unless anyone else can confirm that that's how it works nice run by the way

Same rubbish here in New Zealand 40k over the limit out of town is just nonsense.

The other thing we get is a 4km'h tolerance no faster than 104kph on public roads. most speedos arent even that accurate.
