potential AUX battery option

many of you (like myself) have tried and had great success with the ACDelco 14-BS auxiliary battery
ACDelco ATX14BS (14-BS) Maintenance Free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Powersport Battery $58 - but it's usually sold out, because you guys buy them all up LOL

this looks to be another match for the AUX Battery - and cheaper!

ACDelco ATX14LBS (14L-BS) Maintenance Free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Powersport Battery $40

  • 100% Maintenance Free - Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Technology; requiring no water or maintenance
  • Valve Regulated - Gas Recombinant Technology provides up to 3x the cycle life of conventional batteries
  • Calcium Positive and Negative, Full-Frame Power Path Grids provides the highest cranking amps and the lowest self-discharge rates for off-season storage
  • Unique Leak-proof Pressurized Valve System that is engineered for safety and long life. It also prevents dry-out and acid damage to your vehicle
  • High Density Oxide provide maximum power-per-pound and dependable "high-cycling" service
  • Heavy Top Lead & Large Through-Partition Connections increase both power output and durability as well as vibration resistance, and longer battery life
  • 6 Month Warranty
  • 12 Volts, 290 Cranking Amps at 32 degrees (F)
  • Note: This product is delivered with an Exact-Fill Premeasured Acid Bottle, meaning there will be no leftover acid to dispose of
  • Specifically engineered for PowerSport Users: Motorcycle, Utility Vehicles, Scooter, ATV, Personal Watercraft (PWC) & Snowmobile

Brand ACDelco
Item Weight 10.5 pounds
Product Dimensions 5.9 x 3.4 x 5.8 inches
Item model number ATX14LBS
Manufacturer Part Number ATX14LBS
OEM Part Number 88863879

What I see different - is the vent (none) and polarity setup (opposite)
I wonder if you can just mount it 180 degrees from how you use the original ?

it's only $40 - but same size, amperage, etc as the $58 one

Besides the posts being reversed, he battery should work. There is no vent to worry about which side of the battery it would be located on. Once you "flip" the battery around I am not too sure the cables would reach.

i'm curious on this as well -the top of the batter is only 3 7/16ths wide, but German engineering is usually pretty precise, no sense adding more battery cable than needed

You could purchase and "dry" fit the battery since I am pretty sure that you have to add the acid after you receive it. If it does not fit, them you could return it and get the correct one. Please report to us on what you do/did.

correct - that was my thought as well - just don't mix the acid first, or UPS/FEdEx probably won't take it back
