Funny you should post this tonight because I told my wife about the car 1 hour ago and we'll go drive it on Saturday since we are looking for a new car for her and my MB dealer has really been pissing me off.

I had the pleasure of sitting in one at the Auto Show last weekend. The interior was astoundingly beautiful with high quality leather and just about everything else. If it were rear wheel drive and had enough HP to compete, I must admit I would be there! It was that nice! The outside is also gorgeous. Acura has once again hit one out of the park.

hey guys,

i was an Acura driver before i defected to MB. i just test drove a TL last week. very nice car overall. the only things that i found not to be attractive about he car is the lack of V8 torque and torque steer when you really stomp on the throttle. the lack of a V8 is why i left Acura for Benz. i've been very curious as to what the next RL will have under it's hood?

For the money, Acura really put it a lot of gadgets and features in the new TL.

Bluetooth would be extremely useful since I have the Nokia 3650.

The leather was remarkably soft when I sat in one at the dealer, and over the design and details were very well thought out.

The drawbacks? Front wheel drive and faux wood.

Very sweet looking interior, and handsome exterior. Did the Bayerische defect to Honda's Kalifornia design studios?

Test Drove one yesterday
The TL is a very impressive car. Fit and finish is excellent, the interior leather and plastic is top quality despite the faux wood trim that fooled my wife as being real, and the navigation system is light years better than MB. The car is pretty quick but feels slow compared to the E55. With the dealer installed aero package and lip spoiler the car looks great but it needs 18 or 19 inch aftermarket rims/tires and 1-2 inches of lowering. The car exhibited excessive understeer and FWD sucks. Interesting how everything is standard except for accesories that are dealer installed.

The Bluetooth ready phone system was impressive. In the center console hidden is an accesory outlet to plug in a phone charger and connect the phone. The salesman then linked his cell phone to the car by pressing a steering wheel button and giving 2 voice commandsa and setting his phone to discover mode. In 30 seconds we were up and running with a signal strength meter and battery life indicator from his cell phone on the dash display. We then made a voice activated phone call to his wife who came across loud and clear. Way cool.

The radio comes standard with XM radio which throws in a free 3 month subscription. Sound was nice but I preferred the HK Logic 7 system. The Acura unit does plat DVD audio also which one reviewer on the Car Connection claimed to make this system sound like the best offered on any car in prodution today.

The Nav system left a popcorn trail on the display when we started driving through a new development whose road was not charted on the map yet to allow us to find our way back home. The screen is 25% larger than the on on the W211. It's pretty cool but adds $2000 to the price, eliminates a $1000 discount currently being offered on the non-nav cars, and adds a 2 month wait for the car.

All in all, a sweet ride for $33195 MSRP with destination charge.

I'm also a big fan of the new TL. If I can't scrape enough together for the benz or bimmer I want, I'd definitely be interested in this.

i was invited to Acura TL introduction party a while back.

It's a great buy for the money. The car feels solid, in fact it felt like a german sedan. Unlike my 2000 TL, the 04's structured and chassis were excellent. Brake response if good. The transmission is ultra smooth even in sport shift mode. This was a huge upgrade from my 2000.

however, 04 TL took a huge step backward on steering response. Felt like a lexus/MB steering.
